"Why would you get any intelligence on a fighter anyway? C'mon, this is D&D. Two hits. It's an interesting challenge, you have to pull back your front line after they take the first hit. There are probably better solutions, I know I abused door closing to separate Ithilid packs (can't do this in DA either, BioWare actively forbids you from even fleeing from encounters, or even initiating many of them with a large range gap; forget "closing doors" my god it's a notable thing if the encounter isn't scripted to spawn in your face when you trip an invisible wire)."

\Flayers aren't hard. Any tank can kill THEM in two or three hits. make sure you are immune to stun/charm and they are easy peasy. Plus, have a very good ac they'll never hit your tank toe vend rain their intelligence. Can't drain INT if theya re attacking a character with an of -15+. L0L Umber hulks aren't scary either. In BG2 your saves should be so ridiculously low that you should only be failing them on 1s anyways. Now, beholders are actually tough outside of using the 'kill beholders for free' uber items since they literally spam their deadly attacks en mass. 1 beholder = pretty easy. 3 beholders or more = help me i'm dead. lol

BG2 battles are awesome. A game not having battles as awesome as BG2 is NOT an insult. No game does thoguh DA (both of them) have some nice are certainly better than the vast majority of RPGs (minus the absolutely stupid 'waves' in DA2 which was retartet).

"hy would you get any intelligence on a fighter anyway? C'mon, this is D&D."

Fighters need intelligence in DnD. They don't need intelligence in BG2 (not counting flayers of coruse). HUGE difference.

Yeah, that's what I was talking about. I don't even remember that fight, other than it being dumb on nightmare -- he had a ton of HP and it was just unmemorable. Does he even stop time? He might, but I can't honestly recall.

Gaxkang is a fucking joke if you have mana clash. Scratch the ton of hp part, you can one shot him.

All he really does is shift between being a powerful Arcane Horror and Revenant, and the Horror form is extremely vulnerable to Mana Clash and the like.

I don't really think that's a bad thing. Time Stop is really cheesy, and was only "fair" in BG2 because the free time was underutilized. Give the AI a little bit of sophistication and, well...

And Draconis chained a third Time Stop onto that onslaught. Things ended poorly.

DA:O allowed enemies to deal enormous amounts of damage against unprotected player party characters, so a free ~12 seconds could be absolutely devastating.

fuckin bioware

What a pie faced piece of disingenuous shit. Why the fuck did you put "evidently" in the parenthesis, Gaider? You guys released a fucking headshot of the guy talking about looking fabulous. Gee whiz, I wonder why the fuck people are identifying with the over-the-top nature of your hackneyed characterization? Could it be because you fucking presented it that way? The idiocy is unbelievable.

"Unless it's all you care about"

Dear Gaider, that seems to be all -YOU- care about when promoting the character and it seems to be all that EAWARE and you are focusing on to "define" said character. That's on you, really. srsly.

Because you could have put the stress on "he's an outcast" or "he's a kickass mage" or "he likes pie and coffee" or "he has loads of outfits" or "he collects butterflies", but I guess that wouldn't have made the news as much, right?

Edit - As proven by those four posts all about Dorian being gay. Yeah, that's all -WE- care about and you're so cleverly refocusing our attention.

Nothing was lost. I'm enjoying D:OS which I wasn't anticipating -- a game this good can last me all year, it plays more like a proper successor to BG2 than DA:O ever did (nevermind DA3).

I like how the BioWare employee says 'not just focused on sex', clearly implying that sex is a focus. I've honestly never understood it because BioWare has never done sex right. It's always been awkward and cringe-worthy. They do cartoony truluv fairytale romance alright, I mean, Bastila is fine-- or Leiliana, or what have you. But sex? Why is that even a focus? Sex didn't sell their previous games, romance and relationships did to some extent, but sex wasn't really a factor at all.

Waitwat? When did DA:O even get close to being considered a "proper successor" to bg2?

Apparently a couple characters ("Cassandra" and "Cullen") have been declared as officially straight by Bioware. Because this is more important than anything actually relating to gameplay, girls on Tumblr are going apeshit, many accusing Bioware of "heterosexism" and threatening to not play the game.

Enjoy: http://www.tumblr.com/search/cassandra+pentaghast/recent

So when it’s Dorian, it’s 100% okay for him to be a massive and blatant stereotype, one more fabulous and witty camp gay, because sometimes stereotypes are true and that’s okay.

But when it’s Cassandra, we absolutelycould not have a butch LI for women, that is too much of a stereotype, no way, not going to happen, that is positively unthinkable.

But this totally isn’t anything against butch women. Okay.

ok i guess i just thought cass would at least be bi

i’m so heartbroken i really am idk man i just

Cassandra Pentaghast is straight, there are twice as many male companions as female, and practically everyone is pro-chantry or neutral.

Ngl, highly displeased over here.

do not fucking tell me being upset about cassandra is wrong. do not test me.

I’m probably one of the very few people out there who was hoping that Cass would be asexual, but I certainly didn’t expect her to be. I am a little bummed that she’s straight, but no matter. My Inquisitor and her will become besties like my Warden and Morrigan!

they made Cassandra STRAIGHT?! ARE YOU FUCKING SHITTING ME, BIOWARE?!

I’m not gonna talk about it after this but all I will say is this: of course the “main” female LI is heterosexual. Of course. Because we can get thrown a bone but why would we get someone important? That would be “unrealistic.”

This isn't a comprehensive "best of" or anything, it's literally just shit I've found from scrolling halfway down the first set of loaded results.

Funny that Gaider would accuse his detractors and critics of only caring about the characters' sexuality. Maybe he should take a look at his own fanbase.

DO NOT TEST HIM!... or her... or it...

But this is p. hilarious. "This character is gay! Get over it homophobes!" "This character is straight? WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS BULLSHIT!?"

Fuck, now I understand why they made all the party members Hawesexual in DA2.

This is what happens when you forsake people who actually like games and put all your eggs in the SJW basket. You've made your bed, Bioware, and now must lie in it - hope you brought a HAZMAT suit :smug:
