They were "Hawke-sexual" but that doesn't really change perception. If you play as a dude all the males are gay, if you play as a chick all the chicks are gay. If you realize it's a video game or read a wiki all the characters fuck both genders, which means bisexual last time I checked. It was just too much. Even Bioware admitted that was dumb, if I remember correctly, and Inquisition isn't doing that.

Gay people are around 5% of the population according to every study out there, they shouldn't comprise more than 50% of your adventuring party. It reeks of political message, which annoys people and takes them out of the game world. It's much better to just have someone be gay and mention it if the topic comes up, like say Veronica in New Vegas, who was extremely well done and not seen as an in-your-face or annoying political avatar at all. It's all about good character design and good writing that feels real, not designed to make a point, even if it is designed to make a point. If this gay dude in Inquisition feels like a real person I'll have no problem with him, at all.
