Civilization: Beyond Earth's announcement trailer still hits my weak spot:

Maybe they should've spent that money on the actual game. Or maybe not, that way we have at least a kick-ass trailer. Anyway, back to SMAC, I go.

Why the fuck can't I play as Letho?

Still gets me every time.

Fairly much a perfect intro for the descent into hell that followed.

Pity it wasn't a finished game, had so much potential.

Both Civilization victories are great. However, seeing the smiles wiped from enemy civ leaders' faces still makes me feel warm and fuzzy.

Civilization II - Oracle wonder

Civ 4 - wonders gettin' built

Civ 5 - Montezuma goes to war

And since today is fireworks & BBQ day:
SM's Colonization - independence

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
I love those scene transitions in For Honor's cinematic trailer

Arguably, the only decent thing about Master of Orion III apart from the uninstall button is the intro.

eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, eXtreminate, eXperience? eXcrement.

Black & White - Intro

And after that you spend your time potty training a giant cow. Which is promptly kidnapped. 10/10 timeless masterpiece.

Stacraft II: Wings of Liberty - Intro

Apart from that? Rest in mediocrity, Blizzard.

Make the Codex Great Again!

The Carpenter is strong with this one.

When I watched this for the first time, I instinctively knew that sins of the Fathers would become one of my all-time favorites.

"We've had to endure much, you and I, but soon there will be order again, a new age. Aquinas spoke of the mythical City on the Hill. Soon that city will be a reality, and we will be crowned its kings. Or better than kings, Gods." :shredder:

Even cinematics used to be cooler in the golden age, beating out modern gaming which is all about cinematics  I despise their boring low quality. Old game cinematics often had low production values and the like, but were clearly made with passion and were entertaining, and style substituted purdy graphics whoring.

I'll give some exceptions. I quite like some cinematic moments in Dead Space, for instance. But they're for the most part executed OK, which is rare.
