Cyberpunk 2077 Pre-Release Thread [GAME RELEASED, GO TO NEW THREAD]

Must have received a friendly message from CDPR's lawyers.

Didn't CDPR trademark "cyberpunk" in the context of games?

Whistleblower mode engaged: https://twitter.com/curratum/status/1141658720696451073

That one got renamed to Cyberprank as well.

If the game was really like this, would be day one purchase...

You mean this fight will play out in first person perspective in the game?

If it plays out at all - it could be that based on your choices in the previous mission, Dexter might never turn on you.
Hmm, I thought him turning on you was part of the main plot, and that's how you get to meet Johnny Silverhand.

For the story to have any structure at all, some events must be unchangeable. Impossible to say if this example is one of those or not, or when exactly we get to meet Johny. But atleast from the description of other possible big permutation options in that quest it would seem as there would be more options to it dependent on the gameplay. What happens if you are a corporate shill? If you accept the offer from that law-cops-corporate NPC?

Hard to say if it would cause a complete change or just a slight permutation with the same general outcome. Nothing in the presented material suggests one way or another.
Its kinda stupid to assume one or the other at this point.

I agree. Regardless of how you got the chip, Dexters needs to betray you otherwise you would hand the chip over and that would mean the end to keeping Johnny...

Most probably this cutscene won't be even on the game and maybe Duchamp won't even be a major character. Many companies promote movies and games with scenes that won't even be on the product.

Witcher games had cinematic trailers that didn't feature actual game plot.

The nameless characters in the W3's Killing Monsters trailer didn't show up in the game but these characters in CP77's CGI trailer, we also saw in the gameplay vid, they will most certainly be present in the game. Sure there shouldn't be a cutscene with V killing other characters with pacifist playthrough being possible but the outcomes in the trailer could be certainties(Dex & Co could die without V's help) or possibilities in the game. So yeah, either they'll expect us to mourn our supposed best buddy at the end of prologue/act 1 or it could just be a possibility depending on how you play.

I suspect that there are a number of ways that V gets fucked over and scrapped following the tutorial mission(s), depending on your choices.

Just a reminder, the vampire girl on that Witcher 3 trailer was Orianna, a character on the Blood and Wine DLC and that scene of Geralt killing her happens after the game and you don't have an option to kill her during the game (despite having alot of reasons to), just because a character appears on the trailer and on the game, that doesn't mean much and that the developers are forced to anything.

This is different, there is a lot more plausibility here: We saw the characters in gameplay, know them to some extent & trailer's scenario fits with what they spilled about the chip later on in interviews.

Actually, I remember them saying the gameplay takes place right after that trailer.

They had to show off Keanu.

Do you mean I only have a chance to kill her after Blood & Wine main quest?

I can't speak to its accuracy, but someone translated a news article about CDPR's future plans, and they have Cyberpunk multiplayer, another Cyberpunk AAA and a Cyberpunk "project" in the wings. The AAA RPG they wanted out before 2021 is also going to be Cyberpunk.

About future marketing of Cyberpunk 2077:

Gamescom will get the same style of presentation people and journalists received at E3.

At PAX West new Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay will be presented to the worldwide audience.

"A strong dose of new information (about Cyberpunk 2077) should be expected at the beginning of next year"

About different cyberpunk projects:

-One project is Cyberpunk 2077

-Second project is Multiplayer for Cyberpunk 2077, it's being worked on inside Wroclaw studio

-Third project is another CDPR AAA game that was meant to be released before 2021. It's also Cyberpunk project.

"Our next big project will be also in cyberpunk universe (don't know if he meant Pondsmith's universe). We've already started working on it and we treat it as a really big and innovative project for us."

- Fourth project is Gwent

- Fifth is never annouced mobile game created by Spokko.

This is an interesting tidbit (translation by me):

CD Projekt does not plan to increase the number of CEs, despite it being sold out on main markets. The board said that the percentage profitability of CE is lower than the base game.

Whaaat?

They have just under a year to "change" their minds and announce in the last minute a fresh batch so fanboys on the internet have fresh proof how CDPR is such wonderful and exquisite

The multiplayer element anyways has been known for a few years at least:

Cyberpunk 2077 will include online elements to ensure long-term success, says CD Projekt

CEO Adam Kiciński talks multiplayer.[/url]

"We want to experiment in new fields that were not yet explored in the Witcher," says Kiciński above, as translated by YouTube's English subtitles. "I can’t say much about Cyberpunk, although our ambitions are set really high because that is our style of work. We want to go even higher, and especially seeing how we’re having a business chat, we’re interested in Cyberpunk being commercially even more significant."

On that point, Kiciński is asked about the possibility of multiplayer in Cyberpunk 2077.

He replies: "Online is necessary, or very recommended if you wish to achieve a long-term success. At some point, we have mentioned that there will be a certain online element related to Cyberpunk."

how a single player focused RPG will benefit from useless multiplayer elements? The Witcher has no multiplayer and people liked how it was.

It is a mistery. I don't know. Game Master mode for PnP and ERP autism for starters is enough for your thick skull?

They say all the time that they look up to Rockstar games, Cyberpunk 2077 is their Gta V. First they will release singleplayer campaign then multiplayer component to get all that dough.
