Ok so I'm doing some infrastructure work for making moddable classes. To keep things (relatively) simple I'm going to extend the predefined enumerations to include more predefined classes, containing all the noteworthy ones as defaults:
  • Core prestige classes
  • Tome of Battle classes
  • "official" (non-3rd party) Pathfinder classes
  • What else???
I'm doing it this way for the sake of compatibility between future modifications. It could be done more generally, but as I said I want to keep it relatively simple, and I figure it's sufficient given the size of the userbase / moddership (I seriously doubt even half of these will be filled in...)

Other than that I'll leave room for 100 custom classes for anyone who wants to create their own, but for those there won't be a guarantee for mod compatibility if different people use the same enums. But again I doubt it'll be a problem in practice.

Here's the current list:

Code:

So the question is this:
As you can see I've left room for about 40 3rd ed non-core classes (the PLACEHLDERs). Are there any other notable ones that should be included as "standard"?

Another thing to note, the BG equivalent of "kits" can be done via ToEE's Class Features. It's also possible some of the above classes are like that, haven't looked into it.

I liked:
- Red Avenger (Prestige Class - 3rd edition - Sword and Fist)
- Iaijutsu Master (Prestige Class - 3rd edition - Oriental Adventures)
- Sacred Fist (Prestige Class - 3.5ed - Complete Divine)
- Stormlord ((Prestige Class - 3.5 ed - Complete Divine)
- Elemental Savant (Prestige Class - 3.5 ed - Complete Arcane)
- Blood Magus (Prestige Class - 3.5 ed - Complete Arcane)
- Beastmaster (Prestige Class - 3.5 ed - Complete Adventurer)

What about psionics? any chance to see it included?

Edit.:

I forgot one class from Oriental Adventures that is really nice, shugenja... its kind of a divine elementalist, pretty cool. Anyway, I think the Oriental Adventures have lots of interesting stuff that's worth checking out.

Are you thinking of including setting specific prestige classes? EG Harper from the Forgotten Realms campaign world.

I'm thinking of including whatever gets specifically suggested here :) Emphasis on specific, since I'm not familiar with the supplemental materials so I can't really judge.
And yeah, Psi / setting specific goes too (they will all be toggleable anyway).

Off top o me head I can only think o Knights of Holy Shielding an Knights o Great Kingdom, then again I never got round to third edition so i'm well out o touch. O there were them mages, Silent Ones, in Keoland (or Furyondy) were it?

Found Knights of Holy Shielding here:
http://alcyius.com/USRD/srd/classes/prestigeDunmag/knightOfHolyShielding.html
Seems to be taken from Dungeon magazine: http://www.enworld.org/forum/showthread.php?92922-Dungeon-Magazine-113-Is-In
Quite appropriate for ToEE actually. Might it be a bit too "homebrew" though? Perhaps it's better suited to the Custom list.

Silent Ones (indeed of Keoland):

Sounds pretty shit.

so awesome, new classes...
but i'd so want new content as well.
That's what the Co8 8.1.0 NC patch is for :D
i mean tmore then that. like a whole new story.

i did the CO8 stuff and the vanilla stuff and the KotB !

its cool playing D&D, but the same content over and over is starting to get old...
if only it was easy to do more stuff in that game.

Well there's the IWD Total conversion brewing at the Co8... hope you haven't played that to death yet :P

Question: are you going to list requirements for each prestige class somewhere in game?
Also, gimme that sweet weapon master booty.
Yeah, I'll add the requirements too to the description box and help wiki.

I never played IWD much because I can't fucking stand RTWP. I'd love to see the supposed good encounter designs with not shit combat

Any plans for expanding the prestige classes beyond the DMG/Core ones? (There's some missing classes in that screenshot, but they are pretty shit or just don't work with ToEE's systems in one case)

After the core PrCs are done the focus will likely shift to the IWD2 TC, so probably not in the near term. However the infrastructure for new classes will be exposed to the python layer so users can create new ones (or edit the existing ones) with reasonable effort.

P.S. I agree, RTWP is cancer

Hmm, I guess I didn't alter the new character generation UI (onky the levelup UI so far), but it's quite similar so shouldn't be too hard. Other than that the underlying systems are the same.

Hey Sitra,
Just a generic question regarding future features you are willing/able to implement.
Is it possible legally and/or technically of going beyond the 3.5e SRD and starting to add stuff from other sources or from, let's say, Complete Warrior or Complete Divine?
I have complete faith in your coding prowess so I guess the "technical" aspect of it is always only a matter of time so i guess my question is more about the legal aspects of it and what you can add as far as open sources go.
I was looking at v. 1.014 with your house rules checkboxes and it seemed to me a good place to be able to select which of your sourcebook material you would want to add to enhance your enjoyment of the game.
Of course, some of the stuff in the sourcebook has really been proven as broken when you would combine it with other stuff from other sourcebook (looking at you, divine metamagic feat and nightsticks) but still, could be interesting...

Yeah, the intent of the House Rules section is exactly to house that sort of thing. Right now the only concrete plan is for the 9 core Prestige Classes previously mentioned, but I've reserved slots for various 3.5ed supplementals suggested by folks here, as well as the Pathfinder classes and 'customizable' slots. I hope the new script-oriented Class infrastructure will draw people to mod and submit Classes, similar to how every couple of years someone comes and creates a new spell mod. It's also a neat way to sidestep pissing WotC off too much :p
