  • Have you read and or what do you think of Oswald Spengler or Yockey?
    Louis_Cypher
Sadly not. Never heard of Yockey before today. Haven't read Spengler, but know his general ideas through other people.
I will read the Bhagavad Gita and from what I have seen so far, it is truly a brilliant and moral scripture, as you have said.
Control over one's desires and inner balance.
"Let go and let God" is perhaps a way to interpret Arjuna's inner conflict to fulfill his duty or dharma, regardless of the outcomes. Duty must be performed without attachment to the outcomes, be they good or bad ones.

Why are you reading the Bhagavad Gita?

It is true beautiful Aryan philosophy.
Louis_Cypher Have you read some of the Rigvedas?
There's quite a lot of them, a lot to read.
    Louis_Cypher
I've owned a copy of the Vedas since I was young and very interested in our Indo-European roots, but never read it cover-to-cover. It's largely like the Homeric hymns, so if I'm curious about a certain Indo-European deity, how it compares to Zeus or Tyr, I'll read that particular hymn. The relatonship between Greek, Roman, Celtic, Norse and Hindu paganism, Platonism, Zoroastrianism and Vedanta is fascinating.
Since you’re a Briton, what classics of your culture have you read?
    Louis_Cypher
I'm not the most literary man sadly. I haven't read much of the Arthurian mythos, or any Milton, knowing them through their reputation and adaptations. I have read Beowulf, parts of the Irish cycles, the Mabinogion, several Norse sagas (being tangentally related to Old English culture), the works of Shakespeare, and skipping to modern times, Tolkien's works, which I regard as a modern classic of English literature.

    Greetings.
What have you been playing lately? Your contribution to the Star Trek games thread is excellent.
    Louis_Cypher
I never played 'Aliens: Colonial Marines', so started it recently to see if it is as bad as people say, or passable :)

Never played it, but I heard of its infamy.
