  1. Game News Five Changes from Oblivion to Skyrim

Severance's combat was tactical, fast paced and engaging. What part of that sounds like TES? :D
  2. Interview Mass Effect 2 Statistics Interview

They do need to make the intro skippable. It was atrociously slow after the first time you played the game. My impression is that they still are marketing the game as an RPG. Even with the TPS elements taking priority. It'll be interesting to see what are they going to do design-wise with...
  3. Interview Mass Effect 2 Statistics Interview

Regarding only half of the players finishing the game, it's not a ME thing only. I remember reading some other data mining like this from some other game(s) and they said it was similar to that. I think it's fair to say that the majority of gamers do not finish their games. I'd say it's only...
  4. Elemental: War of Catastrophic Poor Judgment

And even when you see the game, the design is waaay too simplistic. I'm not sure they gave much thought and self-criticism to their game design. It's messy and disjointed. I'm not sure they *know* how to fix it. What's the saddest is that on the Mods forum there are a few good ideas for...
  5. Interview BioInterview: Games Are Not Art

Oblivion ought to be pretty artistic since it provoked powerful emotions like indifference and me wanting to throw up after fiddling with its gameplay design.
  6. Editorial Buying Used Games Doesn't Make You a Bad Person

Indeed. Creating a market for people buying an used God of War 1/2 game can only help entice more people to look out for God of War 3/4/infinite. Hence why id releasing the sauce code for their older games, or Bethesda giving up Arena or Daggerfall for download helps them create and enlarge...
  7. Elemental: Chinese Fire Drill of Magic

It was a messy release. I have been expecting this game for quite a while and was really shocked when I saw that Stardock released it - I thought it still had a few months of beta testing left. But I do have the hope that they will try to fix the unpolish and bugs. My concern now, given their...
  8. Victoria II impressions.

Because the actual population is 4x the number you see in teh number. You see the amount of adult males in a country.
  9. StarCraft 2 Early Post-Release Impressions

Yeah. My impression is that micromanaging focus fire is the baseline for SC2 combat, at least against stuff tougher than a zergling. The campaign was fun and at least mildly varied, as well.
  10. Dragon Age animu

I ain't gonna disagree. But one thing is that and another is the possible quality of the animation studios behind a flick. Could have just used Gotham Knight as the example and it'd remain mostly the same. In that regard, at least the source material the anime is going to work with isn't a...
  11. Dragon Age animu

The Dante's Inferno anime flick wasn't bad. It had some nice segments animated by different studios (like Gotham Knight) - even the one that did Ninja Scroll, I think, was there. Hopefully the DA animu uses one of these that are worth the time. It could be fun at least then.
  12. 5 RPGs that defined 2009

I think it has got to do with these newer engine's handling of pixel shader effects - they seem to easily conflict with the way aa works.
  13. Interview Inon Zur Interview

Mark Morgan, who did FO1+2's and Torment's music (and mobygames also says descent2), seems like capable of a different style...
  14. Dwarf Fortress- full graphics release (updated 4 III)

Thanks!. It doesn't seem to work on my laptop, but it worked wonders on my desktop pc.
  15. Dwarf Fortress- full graphics release (updated 4 III)

With all the new additions it runs with a cyclical lag on my comp. Gonna wait for the d# version that supposedly gets better performance :\
