Just 20 years later you would have gotten a close-up of the smashed skull and a pathologist smoking and making jokes next to the naked body.

This is pretty bullshit. I mean, there was a ramp up from the 60s through to the mid-90s, sure. However movies today tend to be a LOT more bloodless, because of the dominance of the PG-13 rating. There's a ton of action in today's movies, but very little blood. Even PG movies from the 70s and 80s tend to have more blood than today's PG-13 stuff.

yea i've been trying very hard to not say anything about how i feel about this on here as i've already let my frustration on it out off era with fellow lesbians & wlw, but it genuinely breaks my fucking heart. i've been avoiding the review thread because i'm legit terrified of ppl bringing up the lesbophobic scene & others dismissing their concern. i've talked abt genuinely looking forward to the game especially due to wanting to see ellie & dina be happy & sweet together (during the game. i would be ok if the game ends with them apart even if it hurts as long as they aren't dead) before so i hope i at least won't get pushback from cishets here, but having a guy call them dykes & spit on them is genuinely fucking useless and does nothing. the only thing it's there for is to to establish "hey there's still violent lesbophobia in our universe! " and it fucking hurts so, so much. i don't need lesbophobia in fictional worlds just so cishetties can feel for people like me, because the only thing it does is quite frankly make me suicidal & just in general feel like shit, because i can't even escape daily lesbophobia in video games.

sorry if this sounds like mindless rambling (it kinda is), but i'm incredibly heartbroken. we got the kiss during pride month & everyone congratulated nd & they themselves were proud of having a lesbian & bi girl kiss on the big e3 screen. now it's pride month again and what do we get? violent lesbophobia after that beautiful scene. it hurts so, so much, because otherwise i'm still so excited for the game & i feel awful about it. i adore ellie & was hoping that we'd finally get our great lesbian rep in AAA games. i'm hopeful that this is the only instance and that otherwise we'll get beautiful scenes between them without lesbophobic shit thrown in, but i'm still disappointed. i'm okay with lesbian (& lgbt in general) rep in miserable & violent settings as long as we don't get killed off or are only there for torture porn. i thought we'd get that in tlou2, but a bunch of cishet people thinking including violent lesbophobia to get some reactions out of people is the opposite of that. we don't need to know that people hate us & want us dead even in fictional worlds, when we already have to put up with that in our daily lives.

This game is really deep folks, I just watched the 1st hour of that ~3hrs leak and I'm already wondering - "what am I doing with my life?" :D

Really, I could have watched an episode of some good series for this amount of time. I can't believe what an oily turd Druckman is about to release unto the world with this thing. Literally nothing happens for the first hour of "gameplay".

The worst part is - the writing is horrible. It's Westworld 3 level of shit. The player is forced to watch peope with their backs toward him who are having meaningless everyday conversations for the good part of a whole hour. Even this could have been interesting if the characters themselves were interesting, but we all know they never had a chance to be. They have been written by boring and bored middle aged SJWs desperately scratching the insides of their brains to sound witty and interesting. But all they manage to do is to make all characters sound like and talk with the writer's voice.

If this was a movie, not a game, I guarantee you no sane person would give it more than 15 minutes of his time, and no cinema would have shown it. The experience hangs on how good the script is and the script is an abortion.
