I'm just saying that his style here, compared to his response on Reddit, seems much colder. If he's a laconic person or someone of few words, that's perfectly fine—he's absolutely free to be that way, and no one is blaming him for it. I just pointed out, as someone who doesn't know him, that this different attitude between here and there seemed a bit jarring to me.

Croatian Isolation Spy, I completely agree that the hostility towards him is unjustified, but, as you said, he has a very long history here and shouldn’t be surprised that, even if you perform the miracle of the loaves and fishes, people will accuse you of making only twelve baskets instead of thirteen.

So, in any case, his rudeness seems out of place to me. But that’s just my opinion, and, strange as it may seem to many here, I also believe I could be wrong.

I just want to say Vince is actually really nice and considerate.

As long you're reasonable of course, he'll treat you with respect and courtesy. When it comes to game design and stuff, yeah he's going to give you push back because he's trying to critique your idea. Discussions are how we get into the nitty gritty of things. In my experience though, if you provide a good argument for why you want x y or z, then he'll consider it, discuss it with the team, then maybe, maybe, do it if it doesn't take too much resources.

In the few years I participated in the early access for Colony Ship, I had a fun time, I really did. Yeah there were a few moments where I had a really good idea, to me anyways, that I thought would make the game so awesome, and it sucked when it was denied (like having combat maneuvers, GRAPPLE, in the game); but, as VD always says: 'Don't take it personal'. I've seen a few Iron Tower fans who developed grudges or hated Iron Tower because they took it personal when their ideas got rejected. If VD doesn't take it personal when he deals with crazies on steam, then you shouldn't either.

If you saw the kind of crap he deals with on a daily basis, you'd appreciate him a bit more.

No thank you. Vince is someone I respect a lot, he's like my hero. It wouldn't be fun if my hero was mean to me - I know, that sounds like pussy talk, and I know I'll never be a real Codexer with how much of a pussy I can be at times, but eh. Thankfully Codex is a nice friendly community that tolerates retards like me.
