"This message is awaiting moderator approval": All new users must pass through our moderation queue before they will be able to post normally. Until your account has "passed" your posts will only be visible to yourself (and moderators) until they are approved. Give us a week to get around to approving / deleting / ignoring your mundane opinion on crap before hassling us about it. Once you have passed the moderation period (think of it as a test), you will be able to post normally, just like all the other retards.

I didn't realize most members can't see it like GD

I accidentally voted Kingcomrade but I think it's retarded ,the drama ,the politics and the sjw crap is something the developers put in their games and made it a core part of it,not us.If it's a large part of a game then it should be discussed like any other part of that game.If some mods are too butthurt about it then complain to the developers that made the games that way, don't make a forum to brake discussions that way

Behind you.
Step 1: Be a schizo autist trying to merge all threads for a megathread where it's impossible to keep up and find specific topics, so now megathreads are norm

What happened to the times when there would be multiple threads for a game if people wanted to focus on a specific topic? If you search older releases, even some of the small ones, you'll find multiple threads
I agree with this. It's a solution to a problem created for a solution to something that really wasn't a problem in the first place. A new game gets a bunch of threads? Well, who cares. The popular threads will stay at the top and the unpopular ones will drop to back pages. Will other stuff get dumped to Page 2? Sure, but if they're someone active, someone will reply to that thread and it'll be back at the top again. It's also a lot easier to read several small topics or focus in on the specific topics about the subject you're interested in than sifting through 20 new pages on that subject.

leave us Codexers alone who prefer to discuss topics in context - which sadly politics in gaming has become, whether we like it or not.
That's the part of this that is so stupid. Like I said already, I doubt anyone on here, not the majority at least, was pushing for more queers, more diversity, and more real world politics in video games. It's not us pushing politics on the developers, it's entirely the developers, the publishers, the majority of the gaming media, the governments, and the fund managers that are pushing this in to the gaming space. How many modern games have a black woman as the protagonist? And a white guy as the villain? Grab a copy of Sims 4 when it released and fire it up. Now install the latest patch and fire up a new game. You'll probably immediately notice that the patched up version doesn't generate any random white sims. You'll also notice they patched in trannies. Now you have games giving five minute lectures on how great trannies are. You have shit like Dustborn which probably never would have been made if Norway hadn't paid for most of the development. You have Blackrock telling publishers they need more DEI stuff, so those publishers decide to contract consultants like Sweet Baby Inc that are partially funded with money from the Department of Homeland Security.

So no, I don't think this is going anywhere. They're not going to stop. The bitching won't stop either. It's stupid to expect the bitching to stop.

It's also really fucking stupid to worry about the feelings of people who supposedly want your money but don't give two shits about your feelings.

A Beautifully Desolate Campaign Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Pathfinder: Kingmaker Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
So who's petty enough to attempt to stir-up some fresh newly brewed drama about a newly established drama section itself? Some weird fan of recursive metadrama?

Looks at the OP ...oh, never mind.

I voted "Meh".

I understand the reasoning, but I don't think it will fix the problem (only create more work for the moderators by necessitating more thread splits and migration of posts) and it will effectively split what is a part of the game from being discussed. That said, I am curious to see whether The Drama Zone will overtake General RPG Discussion, considering how much more political the games are nowadays (which generates more traffic than discussing less controversial things).

The only clear upside is you'll know where to look for anything drama-related.

we need a separate section for each part of a game we can discuss. So for example there would be be drama discussion, graphics discussion, math discussion, ui discussion, story discussion (non dramatic), production discussion, costume design discussion, character discussion (non dramatic), news discussion (non dramatic), gameplay help, inventory management discussion etc. Each section should be prominently displayed like the drama section is. This will help ensure that everyone gets to discuss the most important things that they like without having to interact with what anyone else wants to talk about. THANK YOU in advance for implementing this important feature and make sure you guys are very prompt about moving posts between threads or else we as a community will be extremely displeased.

Yes, I love it and its an appreciated change

It allows people who want to spend hours and days ranting about wokeness and culture wars there own dedicated space

It already exists, it's called 'ResetEra'. Sign up there and give it a try, leave us Codexers alone who prefer to discuss topics in context - which sadly politics in gaming has become, whether we like it or not.

As for the change - it sucks and it doesn't surprise me that it's been implemented.

We have two groups in a cultural war here. One group wants to include themselves in every space, using every conceivable tactic to do so, including infiltration. When they're not allowed in, they cry 'racism', 'intolerance', 'bigotry' and whatnot. We know them, we hate them, we want them gone.

The other group is comprised of everyone else who isn't mentally insane due to ism-brainwashing. People who not only started all those spaces, but noticed the change happening around them and called it out, and their reward is that their noticing is shunted off into a dark corner, by the people who used to cry 'racism', 'intolerance', 'bigotry' and whatnot. When confronted about this act of racism/intolerance/bigotry, they give a weak response of 'this isn't censorship, this is free speech!' which translates to 'we hate free speech and this is how we kill it'.

Every single Codexer who voted 'Yes' on this is in the former group, whether they know it themselves or not.

Revert the change.
There is already a dedicated and active Political section on Codex and now there is a dedicated culture wars section specifically to discuss that topic

No one is stopping you creating threads about wokeness or culture wars. But its not unreasonable to want the GAMING section to be about games

Lots of people dont want to discuss culture wars in every discussion about a game

And now you have your own space, I dont see the problem?
