Ok then tell me how turns and initiative work in a real-time with pause game genious.

The same way you can pause a movie on a particular frame?

Oh boy, Hazelnut, I remember when I had your youthful naivete and optimism.

It's something I purposefully nurture, and maybe you missed the sarcasm... (I do still think NWN2 is RTwP BTW)

I fully expect an unhelpful, vaguely offsensive post from Volly any minute - but I would love to be proved wrong! (no, really, I would)

Does the concept of turn escape you completely?

For those who dream to see tb in NWN2 read this thread:

http://nwn2forums.bioware.com/forums/vi ... 7&forum=95

The realtime of NWN1 (and NWN2) and the rules changes from turn based to realtime have to be written into the combat engine. You're essentially asking them to write two combat engines instead of one, and that is something that just isn't going to happen.

Too bad. FT had 4 different combat systems. So it could be done if they wanted to and that would be the right thing to do.

Not right now, but ask me again in 6 seconds.

What is the point in having NWN2 real-time (or 'not-turn-based') if it isn't even real-time? Either go with one or go with the other.

If you go with real real-time combat is a lot more hectic and fun but you lose tactics. If you go with turn-based your combat is boring (because the mechanics are dumbed down) but you have tactics. If you go with the fucked up Bioware not real real-time and not real turn-based you have boring combat with no tactics.

"I'm on the edge of my seat to find out what combat system it does use."

It uses the D&D combat system. I thought we clarified this already? Sheesh. It is 'real time with pause' or whatever nonsense though as I mentione dit's not real rela time nor is it real turn base.

Conufisng? Only to the feeble minded.

Anyways, if you played NWN1, the IE games, and the KOTORs 9though the KOTORs used a shitty version), the basic ombat system is the same though NWN2 uses 3.5 rules instead of the NWN1 3.0 rules.

A round in NWN1/2 is 6 seconds. The number of attacks you get in each round/turn is based solely on the character skill (based on level, class, and other factors like haste) not player skill.

Volourn, last night I dreamed you were a marginally cute, but extremely weird girl. You wanted to have sex, but I couldn't find a condom, so I left. Also, you had a very hairy butthole.

Hey, as someone who actually plays D&D, feel free to ask me any questions about it.

omg i play dnd 2 lolz can u imagine teh coincidence.

Though the last 2 campaigns I've been on were d20 modern. After me and my friends got the d20 modern bug it's been really hard to go back to "cold" 3.5E, so I'm thinking of compiling a few house rules that integrate most of the cool stuff d20 modern has into 3.5 while milking the splat books as well.

I downloaded an anal porn movie that concentrated on european chicks with hairy assholes. When they guys gave them creampies the jizm mixed with the chick's sweaty asshairs was kind of disgusting.

Ok, how about, I actually know the rules to D&D so if any of you people saying "the turns are 3 seconds long" want to know how it actually works you can ask me. If you don't want to know then you don't need to ask. So no pressure.

Used to be that rounds were 6 seconds, and there were 10 rounds in a turn, so each turn was a minute. But that was AD&D. I dunno about 3E...

I do know for a fact, however, that neither NWN nor any IE game has ever used "D&D combat rules".

Well rounds are still six seconds but turns are now the time in which an individual character acts within a round.

Im a noobe for NWN2 system but if i understand correctly what people are saying here, the time each action takes is measured in d&d rounds (that is 6 seconds). So if the player only has one attack per round and is not hasted he takes exactly 6 secs to do it?

And why tha hell did't they include an auto-pause feature like they did in BG? Ya know pause the game when someone attacks, when someone is injured, when someone casts a spell, etc

Theres a guy asking that question in the thread i linked but he was immideatly silenced by a summer clone moderating that thread.
