There's a short development update on Knights of the Chalice 2 available.

Okay... I know it's been ages since the last update. So here is some good stuff:

An early video of KotC 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bd-xmW47GN8
(Love it or hate it, feel free to post comments here or on Youtube)

I'm also planning to have a more traditional update with text and screenshots out in coming weeks. Cheers!

I wish he would just use pathfinder/D20 rules, classes and lore. Part of what made KotC so good was that it was D&D. I don't like the main stats being derived from 100 (instead of 18) and also worry that there will be HP and damage bloat, because most designers outside of D&D tend to trend that direction for whatever reasons.

Also don't like the new classes, some seem OP, and others are derpy: 'Stormwarrior', psychichealer, mageknight etc..prefer multi and dual classing...

anyway, I actually don't mind the presentation because it looks to me like it will be very mod friendly and we could end up with many good modules etc..too bad its not D&D though, would love for people to recreate some of the classic D&D modules in a system that used D&D rules and lore..

I can get used to the tabletop look!

Although, he needs to fire the artist guy. Fucking awful blurry shit.

And the fireball animation is too long. But I'm sure he'll fix it in time - the first KoTC had no shortage of gameplay-speeding options.

Insert Title Here RPG Wokedex Codex Year of the Donut I'm very into cock and ball torture
How they made it look worse than KOTC 1 is beyond me, despite the Super VGA (?)

where do you see stats derived from 100? it is a d20 game.

Maybe I am not reading it correctly, or the numbers mean something else, but if you pause the game at 51 seconds and look at the stats it looks like the character has 89 CON, 28 Wisdom, 87 strength, but I can't really tell because it is so blurry and now that you question me about it I notice that if the 8's are actually 0's he would have 07 strength, 09 Con, 20 Wisdom and 21 Int and that instead of what I thought initially he has actually created a powerful spell caster (Bishop?, Archmage? or something) and has low strength and con and high wisdom and Int. The picture is very blurry and there is no HD option, so I could not tell, but it appears all my confusion is coming around reading the 0 as an 8. Also was not expecting to see a zero in front of single digit number so it made my brain more easily see an 8...

also was not expecting to see stats in the 20's for a player character since it is unusual in D&D (but not unheard of), or at least the D&D I used to play. Stats in the 20's were very rare, restricted mostly to demi-gods, giants and super large creatures, or demons and devils; though I am aware that with later versions of D&D it was more common than in early versions, with all the extra race bonuses etc..but again this made m more easily see the 0's for 8's because of my preconceived expectations.

But I think you are right it is D20, because the bonuses/minuses after the stats make more sense if instead of 8's the 8's I was reading are zero's...because the -2 modifier after strength makes sense if it is 07 but not if it is 87, same with +5 after WIS 20 and INT 21 and the -1 after CON 09 instead of a -1 for CON 89..so yes this makes me happier, it does look like this is D20 based game, so basically ...mods can fix the issues I have with the base character classes....

I'm ok with the new look. It's kind of like Warhammer Hero Quest/Dark Quest, but not shitty.

And the art reads ok from a distance. Just don't zoom in...

I think it looks decent. As long as gameplay is good ,story is nice and UI is usable everything else is secondary. Especially since good D&D games are lacking recently.
I am willing to overlook some flaws and problems for a D&D crpg.. which didn't help to overlook a huge flaw called SCL.

It's a d20 game. You can find all infos on classes, mechanics, spells and so on here http://www.heroicfantasygames.com/FWE/Pages/FWE_Title.htm.

A Beautifully Desolate Campaign Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Pathfinder: Kingmaker Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
I don't like the layout of those cobblestones on the dungeon floor.

Otherwise fine gfx.

I love what I see. Seems extremely easy to mod, very in-depth (oh god, all those modifiers are clearly displayed - awesome!) and that inventory looks juicy. No idea why it's 4:3 though...

And yeah, art is crap but that seems like something people will mod the day it comes out.
