Apparently we're going to need a place to talk about this soon.

Pure asiajunk, it's a sort of roguelike chinese expanded Kenshi but with waaaaaay more grind which is downright dreadful. I like the freestyle building system, where you're free to build anything you want the way you want beforehand, and only after you add the required materials. That was a huge weak point in Kenshi where just a couple buildings made sense and were viable.

after too many hours:

the game is a good base, but it's just too barebone. it'd need a gigantic injection of skills, perks, abilities and, most of all, maps. it's also still way too easy and abusable. in kenshi everyone is out to get you, here no one cares about you, sometimes you get a random npc ask for money, but it's just so little you don't care. stealing is overpowered, foolproof and piss easy, it only takes patience. despite the rps approach, some moveset are enormously more powerful than the others, so much that my 1600 str guy can obliterate up to 12000 str people. with a single hit. and if he can't, he can work around it through the "let's spar" tool.

the game needs work, a LOT of work, but it has the potential to be even better than kenshi.

am i the only one having fun with this? your loss.
i was both wrong and right on the grind: it's actually extremely light on the grind, perfecting a single build is a matter of barely a couple hours just casually strolling around, but then you impact on the story and... my first character without too many specific buffs reached 2k strength. my second was around 3k. martial arts school masters are around 15k. the first time you're challenged by the (usually completely avoidable extremely light almost non-present) story you're challenged by a swarm of 36k guys. that's rather retarded. even my supercheesed overpowered one-punch-man build couldn't make a dent into one, let alone 10 of them, all at once.
also through the use of a fixed weapon which should always spawn in a certain map now i can kill anyone, *anyone*, i can spar with, in a 100% legal way, without incurring a reputation hit because it happens out of combat. the game desperately needs balance. still fun tho.

I am very interested, there are too few games in the setting and this seems interesting; if confirmed i will take it when out of early access. But it does not appear to be a roguelike (which in my book is fine); has it permadeath mechanics or not?

Personally, I find it a trash game. The combat with cards is kinda interesting but everything else, and especially the open world just feels like it's an alpha sandbox game that's never gonna amount to anything. I'd recommend Kenshi over this and I don't think it's a game worth buying. (I bought it unfortunately)

yes and no. you're supposed to go through several characters, getting stronger and stronger. when you die (you must be really dumb to manage it) your character is deleted, but savegames are not :V so if you're not satisfied it's just a matter of reloading. i hope it's an oversight, being the game still barely more than a working alpha.

I can see it as an interesting base for a future potentially good game, but it's just a fuck-around sandbox right now. Like how the interesting combat mechanics are held back by how imbalanced it is.
Whether it's stacking qi to 1-shot sect masters with Wave Palm, abusing the concealed weapon that lets you passively stack absurd levels of poison, abusing Flower Rain's crazy 10x modifier that also gets Moon Chi scaling, or just using the extremely overpowered ice sword moveset in general, it's trivial to shit all over the game.
Similarly, the sandbox mechanics are also interesting, but they're insanely abusable to the point that the only way to not break the game is to play with both arms tied behind your back. For example, I can simply walk into a sect, find whoever owns their warehouse, intentionally knock them out in a sparring session, throw them off a cliff or drop them in a square with deadly environment conditions, then seize their warehouse since it's ownerless now. Bam, I now own all of the Sect's resources without a single consequence.
Or if I really wanted to fuck the sect over, I can just start a few fires on the furthest edge of town. While they rush off to put it out, I can punch apart their undefended sect banner and destroy the sect without a single fight.
I found the hours I put into it to be very amusing, but I'd never recommend it to anyone in its current state.

My god, just ignore the exploits and play the normal way, and don't abuse reloads.
You are SUPPOSED to reincarnate alot in this game.

Is a very ok game for 15$ in early access, also nice mods potential.

This has been on my wishlist for quite a while. Theres still a few complaints from reviewers that english translation is still trash and the game is still not feature complete.
Looks like this "1.0" release is a ruse to bump players and the steam algorithm in the game's favor. Shame because the game looks cool.

I regret buying it but that was a while ago. Hopefully it's at least decent these days.

Still not feature complete indeed. There is some (Quite a bit if you are into emergent gameplay) fun to be had completing characters and exploring the world, particularly on your first life. But it still needs a lot of work.

Much like Amazing Cultivation Simulator, it takes some getting used to on a cultural level but it's a very unique experience. The jank-ass translation doesn't really help. The underlying mechanics however are solid.

I uh acquired a ton of money from "lost possessions" which I'm certain weren't actually lost but hey I'm never going back to the owner. Fuck em. Cleared out some bandits by getting a random NPC to follow me into their hideout. Punched a monkey in the balls so hard it died.
Great stuff.

I love how the relationship system, while a bit wonky at times, naturally creates typical Wuxia stories. A bunch of guys I beat up over my career tried ganging up on me. Sadly they were crippled and naked so I beat the shit out of them again.

Theres some really fucking funny stuff with the relationship system, because its so fleshed out you may actually end up making friends with people you repeatedly beat up, and you may actually make your friends hate you by killing someone that hates your guts.

Beat up my wife to become sect master. :smug:

Got Primordial Chaos and True Method - That's the Way To Power here. Although even with 12k vigor there is still room for improvement. Still haven't finished the story either.
