It's an RPG. A role-playing game in case it's not clear. Characters never look photo-realistic in RPGs, so let's not make a fuss about it, ok?Skittles said:

I CANT TAKE IT ANYMORE. YOU ARE NOT LISTENING TO ANYTHING I SAY!!! I SAID THAT I WAS DISAPPOINTED WITH OBLIVION. DIS-A-FUCKING-POINTED YOU STUPID FUCKING FUCKS!!! DO I HAVE TO EXPLAIN WHAT THIS WORD MEANS TO YOU?SkepticsClaw said:Hm. Bending over backwards not to be a standard Codexian, wanting to play a game based solely on the graphics might be construed as a trifle shallow here (if that is indeed your position; it's difficult to say as most of your posts have been flamewars with other members up to this point). In fact many would call it a damning indictment of your entire attitude towards gaming. Not that graphics are a bad thing of course; but they are neither necessary nor sufficient for a good gaming experience. I suspect most of the vitriol you were originally subjected to on this subject was due to the above reasoning.
oh they do, do they? I posted the picture above for a reason. Look at it and tell me if the graphics there are bad. Not that I expect you to. you, all of you were dishonest from the start. I don't expect you to change and admit that a game you don't like can actually look good. Also many people disagree that Oblivion had good graphics.

Why not? Just because most gtames do character models badly doesn't excuse Oblivion from doing them very badly. Faces especially are probably one of the most important areas for graphics since they're what are most noticably not real, and Oblivion does faces horribly. Also in Oblivion the character models don't just look bad, they're also homogeneous almost any two characters of the same race and gender look indentical which is a big immersion-killler and is annoying from a gameplay perspective as well. Compare this with say Daggerfall where while most of the characters use a a predefined sprite that they share with other characters, these sprites all have distinctive looks and alot of personality built into them. This is one of the reasons why I'd consider Daggerfall, while being based on 2D sprites, to have better graphics than Oblivion.Melissan said:It's an RPG. A role-playing game in case it's not clear. Lol, seriously? What an utterly absurd overreaction. I seem to remember earlier you moaning about how you were only stating your opinion, blah blah, why are you all so mean etc. It seems somewhat ironic that you would not even begin to attempt to extend the same courtesy to other people, does it not? Interestingly, you assumed from the outset that my post constituted some kind of attack on you. Why so defensive?Melissan said:I CANT TAKE IT ANYMORE. YOU ARE NOT LISTENING TO ANYTHING I SAY!!! I even stated my own uncertainty about your position, and simply offered a theory about why some of your comments might received negative attention. In response you have a tantrum. Good job?I said:(if that is indeed your position; it's difficult to say as most of your posts have been flamewars with other members up to this point)
If you actually go back and READ my post, you might notice I personally say nothing about Oblivion's graphics. I think they're fine, in fact, because as I explicitly stated graphics are not an important consideration for me! So why ask me why I don't like the graphics? Reading is teh hard?Melissan said:oh they do, do they? I posted the picture above for a reason. Look at it and tell me if the graphics there are bad. I actually DO like Oblivion. In fact I stated so IN THIS VERY THREAD. But don't let facts get in the way of your random emotional outbursts!Melissan said:I don't expect you to change and admit that a game you don't like can actually look good.

Nothing says immersion like an ugly cut and paste piece of shit with shallow, simplistic and boring gameplay.
Daggerfall is shit and anyone who thinks it's anywhere other than the bottom of the TES series is an idiot with no taste.
