After 5 years of No Games, Sony leaks they'll announce PS5 Pro on September 10th (edit: Revealed. $700 and no disc drive. Come laugh at it.)

Presentation set for tomorrow was initially titled PS5 Pro before being fixed. Same day as US Presidential debates, so might not even be the biggest fuck up of the day.

IGN restream of event itself since official PS account's version is age restricted (need login to YT and fuck that)

Even half a year ago, developers were asking "Why". They can't even justify using all the PS5's power, why do they need more? Only possible use for this is 4k resolution, which is niche.

All signs point to hardware sales (inexplicably) being OK, but software sales being terrible. Check Sony's reports to shareholders: They bundle PS4 software+PS5 software into a single bullet and still had the number go down after PS5 launched. They've also shown half their PSN userbase is on PS4. Exact software sales for individual titles are extremely vague, which is never a great sign. Their best selling game was Soy of War 2 (15 mil as of end of 2023) and second best was Miles Morales 2 featuring Peter Parker (10 mil as of February). We know from Sony's poorly redacted documents that week 1 sales of FIFA "on PlayStation" (PS4+PS5?) were 3.8 million and a CoD title was 4.4 million (unclear if counting digital, retail, or both).

I'll be genuinely surprised if it isn't expensive. They're going to want to try and squeeze every possible penny out of customers to make up for the mess that was Concord.

Software sales are terrible because there is no software to buy. People queued for hours to buy the PS5. Scalpers became overnight millionaires. All because people thought the PS5 was going to be amazeballs. But there's no point in fancy triggers if nothing uses them.

People bought PS4's to play Bloodeborne, or Gran Turismo. The PS5 has no killer app. The only exclusive it has pretty much is Astros Playground, which comes for free with the console.

PS4 Pro made up about 14 million of the ~117 million PS4s sold.

Of course, there will be those who can easily buy a PS5 Pro regardless of how much it costs and there will be those who will be trading in or selling their base PS5s (a cursory glance at eBay suggests that this is already happening) to fund an upgrade.

But I think it's gonna struggle. A lot of people are expecting $600 to $700. It's really only a console Digital Foundry fanatics can appreciate.

You can build a decent PC for that money if you shop around. But Sony know their audience, goyim will gladly pay to play tranny walking simulators at 4k 60fps with slightly increased draw distances.

SDG is already pawning his furniture.

Since Sony was dumb enough to port all their games to PC, I await direct comparisons between this and PC for Soy of War 2-2 and Horizon Zero Muscle

You WILL buy the ps6 at 1000 bucks.
You WILL buy digital only games at a 100 bucks.
You WILL pay a 100 bucks yearly for online.
You WILL play games at 5 fps boosted with AI to 20.

Game HelpUnable to Fix PC Stutter (self.Eldenring)

I tried a lot of things including
Switch from Fullscreen to Borderless Windowed (the game does run better in Borderless Windowed)
Disable Ray Tracing. This one is no brainer as Ray Tracing doesn't make Elden Ring look much different anyways
Setting 59 and 60 FPS cap in Nvidia Control Panel. I tried both numbers.
Setting V Sync on / V Sync Fast in NVCP
Update bios
Update GPU drivers
Disable Shader Cache/ Set Shader Cache to Unlimited in NVCP
Delete Xbox App and Remove Xbox Game Pass games from PC. This was mentioned in other reddit posts as a Fix.
Disable Root Enumerators in Device Manager. There's Microsoft Device Association Root Enumerator and Microsoft RRAS Root Enumerator in Software Devices. I disabled both.
Disabled multiple audio drivers in Device Manger that were active at the same time. This can drastically improve your game performance in every pc game, but unfortunately this did not remove the stutter in Elden Ring.
Disabled Xvdd SCSI Miniport in Device Manger under Storage Controllers. This is was said to be associated with Xbox Game Services and others on reddit have linked it to Elden Ring stutter. This did not fix the stutter.
I run a balanced Power Plan with usb selective suspend Disabled. The USB setting can help remove stutter as well in other pc games, but this did not fix the Elden Ring stutter.

I've done more things as well, but lost track at this point, now I'm watching the Event Log trying to find something that may suggest something is wrong with my PC. I'm not well versed into PC troubleshooting and this has been really aggravating me trying to fix this. I may end up playing the DLC on PS5 instead of PC if I'm unable to fix this. Anyone else having similar issues?

System:
Windows 11
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090
i7 13700K
ASROCK Z790 Pro RS/D4
2 2TB SSDs and 4TB HDD (No games on hard drive)
corsair vengeance 2x16 RAM DDR4 3200 MHz

So wait wait wait, €800 for the console, €80 for the disk drive, €50 for the stand, €120 per year for the online…
This may be the most hilarious and out of touch announcement in the history of this shitty industry kek all for upscalled ai bullshit, and ray tracing shit that no one in his right mind should care about. And no games, not only that, but cancelling games a week after launch
