After 5 years of No Games, Sony leaks they'll announce PS5 Pro on September 10th (edit: Revealed. $700 and no disc drive. Come laugh at it.)

Parroting No games lol.
More like shader stutter on PC equals no games
You're quite literally retarded. Look at Elden Ring and Jedi Survivor on consoles and say that again.

You can build a decent PC for that money if you shop around.
No. No you can't.
You most definitely can. Get a used Ryzen 5 5600 and RX 6700, 32 gigs of ram, B450 motherboard, 1TB SSD, used case, there you go. Decent 1440p build, you can also play a lot of games at 4k with upscaling, and it will still look better than PS5. No additional money for a stand, disc tray, online play or other stupid gimmicks. Also, you can buy games from a variety of stores, at competitive prices.

Need a controller? Here's one for 30 bucks, hall effect stick so you don't need to replace them every six months, and longer battery life.

You also get access to a backlog of prestigious games spanning decades, so you don't always have to swallow the same slop Sony serves you.

With current prices it would be pretty hard. But considering disc drive price + ps5 game prices + psn subscriptions, it is still cheaper to just get a good PC for more.

Ok I've seen that ps5 + disc drive + stand is 950 in Europe. With that in mind I fully agree that you can get a more than decent PC

For me that comes up to around 900 usd (converted), at a glance, without shopping for better prices or used hardware. There are probably better value parts. Or you could get cheaper parts to fit in the budget. You forgot a psu, a shit one will cost you in the long run.
A good pc will cost more than this shitty console, but you get better quality, it will last you a lot longer than a console that's outdated before its even released, you aren't cucked into paying subscriptions, you can do way more stuff and play practically every game ever released, including through emulation, which can be done even on midrange hardware these days for most platforms.

Sounds an awful lot like a shit-game type issue. Keep coping.
If you're cattle who's willing to pay for inferior hardware so you don't have to spend a few hours to alleviate your tech illiteracy, then yeah, consoles are a good choice.

It has no exclusive, no game on its platform, no good advantage over a PC.

800 euros.

This gen is a pure disaster.

Nintendo will once again win this gen of consoles by default because the other constructors just abandoned.

It ships with a 2TB SSD which is odd. Including an optical drive instead of extra storage would have made more sense.
They're preparing users for a digital only future, what else?
They still need to sell this thing. Many on forums such as Era and NeoGAF are lamenting the fact that this model doesn't ship with an optical drive. That tells me the optical drive is more important than the extra terabyte.

I see they're already bragging about how there will be a slight improvement to the graphics for Rebirth. The game already looked fine as far as I'm concerned.

I guess the future is going to be the occasional new game and yet more re-releases of existing games with 'enhanced graphics'.

Ah, well. My backlog is big enough already and I've been having more fun playing older games lately. Many hold up fairly well and I can overlook outdated graphics easily enough.

Way he talked about 120 FPS implies it's capped at that, likely because they can't even be bothered to add a display port output.

The PS5 will end its life with no games.
After watching the presentation for this, I still expect PS4 and PS5 will share a final game.
Why would they add a DP when TVs don't have DP and it's easier to use a controller without a desk in the way and monitors are mostly too small for couches and such?

People mock Nintendo for their low-end hardware, but with that strategy they've managed to mantain a good balance between cost vs performance.

Having exclusive games that take less time to develop also helps.

If they release the next Switch at $350 or even $399, they're sure to win once again.

DisplayPort is such a pain in the ass to deal with in all honesty. Sure, it's technically superior to HDMI and is an open format, but when was the last time you could go to the local shop and buy a DisplayPort cable?

Hahahahahaha is this for real nigga? Hahahahahhahahahahahahahahaha

I can't even imagine how expensive this joke is going to be here in Brazil, its already almost 4k. For a little bit over that, I brought a nice entry-level gaming laptop, the LOQ15. Could have probably brought a gaming PC better than the PS5 if I wanted (but I didn't).
NO way the PS5 Pro isn't going to come out as anything less than 6k BRL. With 4-6k BRL you can build a bretty gud gaming PC, even in Brazil. Plus, no PSN subscriptions, piracy and paying cheaper prices on games.

Wherever you are, the PS5 is a fucking joke hahahahahahhahahahahaahahahahahahah

"HIROKI, HIDEAKI, where's my fucking games?!!!"

If I did not know any better I would say that the new California management is just trying to sink the whole brand. Every decision they make essentially just crosses off reasons for the whole brand to even exist.
Ease of use? Fuck you! Download 100gb patch to get 2 extra frames per minute.
Physical library? Fuck you! Pay 100 extra for the drive.
Multimedia center? Fuck you! We removed the CD drive.
Backwards compatibility? Fuck you! Pay me 20 buck for a 20 year old game.
Exclusives? Fuck you! Ports everything to PC.
Games? Fuck you! No games for you.
And now finally affordability? Fuck you! Give us 800€ for what we promised with the base console.

At this point the PS6 may as well be a premade PC with SteamOS.

It's not like you can trust retail stores to carry non-shit HDMI cables either though.

With Sony's exclusives coming to PC, this, and xbox being dead, it seems like all platforms are just converging into PC. Let's see what Nintendo does with Switch 2 and whether they can keep a spot as the handheld console or if it gets eaten up by phones and chinkhelds

Codex 2016 - The Age of Grimoire Make the Codex Great Again! Grab the Codex by the pussy Codex Year of the Donut Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
I checked the pricing here in Sweden, the standard edition is already almost 7000kr. That's about 654 USD. When you take that into consideration, I don't think it's impossible that it will reach 900 bucks here. Sweet Jesus.
