After 5 years of No Games, Sony leaks they'll announce PS5 Pro on September 10th (edit: Revealed. $700 and no disc drive. Come laugh at it.)

$700 can get you a 2 week Airbnb vacation in a Mediterranean country off-season. People really buy consoles and shit?

It ships with a 2TB SSD which is odd. Including an optical drive instead of extra storage would have made more sense.
They're preparing users for a digital only future, what else?

Sony hasn't given a fuck about physical media for a while, they don't even make any premium UHD players at the moment, and those that they have are buggy or incomplete featurewise. Sony also has a movie streaming service.

Both the big tech and big media like Disney want physical media dead, asap. Btw Disney, among others, is the reason why HDMI 2.1 is fully proprietary and why we shan't see Display Port in TVs.

That's why AMD-users on Linux are practically forced to stick to DP if they want those fast refresh-rates on 4K, and that means TVs are no good. I doubt those DP to HDMI adapers can support HDCP.

Significant discount from trading in your old PS5 is the only thing that makes this viable. Even then why would I want to get rid of my PS5 Slim with a disc drive for a discless POS?
so you already considering it?
I am. There are certain games I would like to experience at their peak. Control is a big one. Dragon's Dogma 2 is another. Monster Hunter Wilds is a big one coming up.

Demon's Souls remake would be pretty mindblowing to see on powerful hardware like that.

Yes, that is extremely prestigious, waiting fucking 10 years to play one of the best Souls games created. If someone really likes Souls games and didn't play Bloodborne since the game was released in freaking March of 2015, there is only one excuse: being poor. The total cost of getting an used PS4 for cheap, playing through Bloodborne and selling PS4 after it's equal to bag of potatoes and a bottle of vodka.
I'd have to play it on gamepad, no thanks.

I couldn't imagine playing a game like that on anything other than a gamepad. Mouse and keyboard is only objectively superior where shooter and stategy type shit is concerned.

If I could afford only one, I'd without hesitation buy a gaming machine of choice ( PC ) instead, price is not an issue, having something entertaining to play on it is.

You are a special case where clawing too much ruined your imagination. Find a study to enroll.

Here's what the PS5 will have out of the box:

It'll also feature Wi-Fi 7 and 8K resolution support.

Honestly, It sucks that they don't use that "AI-Driven Upscaling" to artificially remaster old games through backwards compatibility, instead using it on games that are already visually good.

Hardware-wise it's an rx7800 xt. Decent midrange gpu, seems to be around 450 bucks on amazon. Add to that a zen 2 cpu, 2tb ssd, mobo, a psu and ram for 250. Maybe it's not such a terrible deal for the hardware. It's the walled garden around it and the fact you're stuck with this hardware until the next console.
Idk about their upscaling, most of the stuff that exists generally makes games look shittier (improving slowly over the years, doubt this will be good at launch), but does give you more frames.
I have 7900 gre, which is about 10% faster, but it stuttered with rtx in witcher and cybergunk without frame generation at 1080p. With it, the games looked weird and blurry.

Is this true? In my experience, DLSS 3 and FSR 3 have been phenomenal in improving frames while not harming the graphics in any way.

Peak? You can assign the different gun modes to the number row with a mod in the PC version of Control. A game with a transforming gun should have had more than a binary toggle built in for on-the-fly weapon switching.

There are comparisons on youtube, you can see how they progressed between versions. I've only used FSR 3 (FSR2 in witcher, it did look noticeably worse) and Intel's XeSS, because they're software-level and should work on any gpu, DLSS is only on Nvidia GPUs that support it and it definitely looks better, from what I've seen. I didn't spend much time looking for differences, but with frame gen stuff looked a bit off. I just chose to play without it and RTX, because I think it would still stutter on my card at 1080p (and the fans stay quiet).
It also depends on resolution, at 4k it's probably not noticeable. It's a tradeoff, you do get tons of frames. Might also depend on drivers and individual games.

Grab the Codex by the pussy
Speaking of Bloodborne, we'll probably play that on PC at stable 60fps within a year, maybe even sooner considering how much progress guys behind shadPS4 are making. Console players will have to wait for the Bluepoint remake when PS6 comes out, and that will be an inferior version.

But for some reason people prefer to spend their energy asking for PC port every year, for the last 10 years dammit.
I'm poor and I agree with this 100%

Brazilian gamers have been mocking this shit nonstop, especially because it's going to likely cost anywhere between double or triple the real price here in Brazil. Speculation is 5.5k-7k BRL. The 5k something part is pretty much fabulous optimism. Anything over 6k is frankly insane, you could build a Gamer Setup able to dunk on the PS5Pro with all that money. If you wait an year, you will probably be able to build something even better, due to the coming launch of the latest AMD processors and the next gen of videocards next year.

>high price tag
>walled garden
>multiplay for pay
>expensive games
>jk, implying you have games
>best plataform to play PS4 games on... oops where disc drive
>not even a fucking stand included (a fucking stand)

Cogitating the existence of Consoletards in 2024 is top kek by default

I'd say Xbox 360/PS3 was the last good generation of consoles. There were a ton of awful games (obviously) but there were way more memorable classics.

PC retailers in Japan are using PS5 Pro as an advertisement for their PC builds.
