Having some trouble with my drifter lore guy near the end, maybe somebody can help:
  • How do I find the arch again? I had it last playthough, but I can't seem to glean its location from the library now.
  • Has anybody been able to get into Inferiae? Both of my playthroughs so far have failed a CHA check and I just get escorted out of town
  • Where do you buy the mechanical eye? I've been scouring the temple district, hope I didn't miss something obvious
  • In August, VD mentioned "an explorer way past Hermon (long overdue)" and "a trading check with Hermon", have these been implemented in the release? Right now it seems like I'm tacking an extra 1000 to that eye (killing Neros helps eat 400 of this transaction)
Other than these questions I think I've been able to pass checks for everything lore relevant, magic starting stats seem to be (credit to Serendipity on the ITS forums)

Going with the Merchants in Teron and then switching to Aruelian by fixing the outpost has given me buckets of skill points, and the only thing that felt wasted to enable the build was 10 put in etiquette. I've been saving frequently, so I could probably post more detailed stat progression if somebody wanted. Give it a shot if you want to see all the really crazy stuff this game has going on behind the scenes- it's a dramatically different playthrough from my Burglar-Thief one.

  • Bookshelf in the left sideroom of the Library, underground.
  • I'm not 100%, but I think you can anger the village leader (instead of persuading) and you get thrown down by an angry mob. Or you can kill them.
  • Temple district, the merchant on the right (lower right quadrant) of the crossroads, facing the temple in which Levir is. He's easy to miss because a pillar blocks him with the usual camera angle.
  • Don't think there is one.

It's not only Fenix. I've noticed that a significant amount of codex players are asking way too many questions instead of playing the game themselves. I know that not everyone has the time to check all the paths themselves but it's not like they have to do it this weekend (or even this month). This is one of the reasons we get games like Fallout 3 and the like where everything is on autopilot. :decline:

Maybe it's just me but when you read a solution in some walkthrough it spoils the fun.
This is the correct way to play though. No fun to find out 6 hours in that you have one con too little to do something you really want.

Really, the correct way to play this game is with notepad++ in the background so you can look up all the checks.

Is it at all possible to receive a second jar for the healing machine without doing the thieves guild questline in maadoran with sufficiently high lore?

just play the damn game. half an hour will answer all your questions.

Yeah, I should play the game with 4/5/6 build dying in each fight 50 times - just to know that.
And loading time around 1 min don't encourage me too.

when you read a solution in some walkthrough it spoils the fun.

What's really spoil the fun is that after 2-3 days I didn't move even a bit from start position in my hybrid build.
Maybe a week later, if I'll be on the same stage, pure fighter or talker will become more appealing. Possibly, most likely.
I suspect so.

You can convince a zealot to fight the construct at the entrance of Hellgate, then convince Bennie to give you something to avoid the constructs.
there are no novices at the entrance of hellgate

edit:; oops i meant zealots

and also my point is that i can't find any zealots anywhere not even in the temple city where there used to be a ton of them

Yes, just complete Maadoran in a way that leads to you bumping into Levir and friends on the way out. Helping the Noble Lady in the palace district against House Aurelian is the way I know of, there might be others. As an added bonus, you meet his lore master, too.

It is common knowledge that a hybrid playthrough is the hardest option, and it is only feasible only after you played the game doing talker and fighter playthroughs. You think you know best, so that is your problem.

Ahh, so I will probably have to kill him for it. So far I haven't figured out a way to peacefully resolve that 'meeting' in the catacombs.

Is it even possible to use the healing machine in the well with 4 intelligence/10 lore? :/

Don't understand. Is it any good or just plain bad to sign that document?

It's good for hybrids. The options it opens up are easier, and you only need persuasion + charisma to pass the check.

The mercenary by the entrance.

You only die 50 times if you suck shit and/or insist on getting into fights that you have no business getting into.

If this game was impossible to play without asking a million questions beforehand then it wouldn't be worth playing, so either way there's no reason to do an entire interview before clicking the exe.

I need to investigate the drawing in Lord Gaelious library. Where is the library and how to access it? I have already caused Gaelious' death and put his nephew in the throne

I'm only getting 1 combat experience per fight, not per kill as it used to be. Is this a recent change? Will post in the bugs section if it's isolated to myself.

Edit: Nevermind. Found out less combat experience is given because for every 10 combat experience you earn you get a universal increase in your combat skills by 1 under "training"

You are right. I changed my mind about it.

But the money I can win from that M-guy? Instant 454 imperials! I'm too greedy I know. )

Anyone found extra "big" power tube? I only know about one in Infernae, but can't get there due to lore check.

questions about endgame
I'm on the endgame of the merchant path(as a loremaster), but there are still things that i want to resolve:
1) I own the following items but haven't found use for them: ghost hand(charged),mechanical eye, astrolabe, was wondering where to use them.
2) I've talked with bennie about some ritual but he requires an special "facility", where would that be?
3) I went with an expedition sent by Meru to Al-Akia, but they wouldn´t let me explore it, i thought i could return to it after the siege but i cant, so is there another way to return?
4) Where is Elias?

One thing i missed was going into the abyss, did it had an item needed for questions above?

1) Ghost hand and mechanical eye can be used at the Arch at least. But you need to have implanted the eye.
2) If you mean the medical facility you need to have visited the monastery vault. You also need to have visited Al-Akia.
4) Elias is near the main gate. Go up a ladder and inside the small house.

I don't remember Abyss having any meaningful loot inside but I could be wrong.

The monastery itself can be found through the healer at Maadoran but the vault is sealed. To get to the vault itself you need to use the portal inside the sewers of Maadoran or the Temple of Zamedi portal if I remember correctly.

You both are full of shit there is not one and only correct to play single player game... As to spoilers someone can tell me if turning smelter to blue steel does changes the games drastically? I decided to go House Daratan all the way this time but puling 2 points in lore for not Intellectual Oriented Praetor when he could put them into alchemy, critical strike and such and actually win so some fight and loot is hard choice especially since you are only rewarded for making it work in basic mode... or so it seems and this game is all about caring ONLY for your self according to Tutorial screens and Vince words... Would hate to miss Blue Steel sword or Armor as reward 15 hours later.

So about power tubes and their locations:
I know about the two in the sewers, the one that the curio trader sells, the one the scorpions are hoarding, and the one at the mine. However I fixed the smelter and I used one tube for the breathing device in order to get inside the Abyss. That means I've got two but I need a third one for the power armor and my characters is too weak for me to go past the scorpions. Also, I obviously can't get the one that the house guy in Maadoran has because I've destroyed Maadoran and I can't give up the reason for the power tubes anyway (i.e. the power armor).

Is there one somewhere I don't know about? I've heard there is supposed to be one at the hangar/old facility but haven't found one there.

There is one in the pipe right next to the large door downstairs at the hangar, but I think it requires some STR because the valve is jammed.

Two easy power tubes are being sold by a soldier at the pass. You just need to buy the 'artifact' from him and ask for a cheaper price.

If you have enough CON and DEX you can also swim down that well in the slums and then you need lockpick 6 in the underground chamber to get another power tube.

Regarding an alternative way to get the grooved sphere, Vault Dweller said several months ago on the ITS forum:

We'll add it. Bass should have one (requires combat) and we'll add another one requiring lockpick and traps.

Does anyone know the location of the one requiring lockpick and traps? Is it in the pass as well or somewhere in Maadoran?

It takes craft to open the pipe. He blew up maadoran so he can't get the 2 down the well in the slums; I think the lockpick check has been lowered to 4 or 5 now. There are more tubes at hellgate where the spear is.
