Can anyone explain how the game flows?

My start was very confusing like: go there/do that - teleport - teleport - teleport - dialogue - screen with the picture and a text that Teron is screwed and I got to Maadoran...

So is the game divided into sections divided by traveling from city to city?

Pretty much. The game is in three big chunks: teron, maadoran, then ganezzar. After that, there's a small chunk before the game ends. Maadoran is probably the biggest, but in any event you should take time to explore all the sidequests. If you just focus on your main faction quests then you will miss a lot of content.

There are only 2 sources of fire vials in Teron, I believe: the inn alchemist's starter kit, and 2 vials sold by the merchant outside the inn. One reliable tactic is to start the battle having approached them, and then immediately move right and up to get to the corner created by the low fence and the high fence. From there, the crossbowman on the platform can't fire at you, but for some reason you can at him/her, and then all the melees have to walk into your fire zone.

If you're an assassin you can get a fire vial from one of your guildmates as well :)

Men, I just reached the IG questline point where you have to choose which house you want to ally with. Now, Paullus doesn't want to go with Crassus so the game tells me to find Carrinas and ask him (I started as Praetor and turned IG by having Carrinas declare Antidas Emperor). Only when I go back to Teron, Carrinas is nowhere to be found. The barracks are locked and I can't get inside the daratan compound. There's only Dellar there, and I can only ask to talk to Antidas, which he promptly turns down even though I ahve 30 reputation with house Daratan and made his liege lord Emperor.

Bug? Or is Carrinas somewhere else?

I talked with Dellar and he let me in. Carrinas is in the throne room with Antidas. If you can't do that, you can go back to Paulus to continue the quest, I think.

After starting again and putting points into dodge before dagger the whole ordeal was easier. I managed o do everything that had o be done including saving my murder bros. The fight against the centurion was harder for me than the attack on the batcave. Thanks for all the tips that helped a lot. Winning never felt better than after being frustrated by aving to reload a few imes and try different stuff, would give you my money over and over again Vault Dweller

Congrats, next time try warning Carrinas and burn your own guild down. You even get a free ninja-potion. I've never won, but then again I've never tried it with a pure fighter build.

But but they are my bros. For the next playthrough I will try to build someone who can scout out the lore in the more dangerous areas butt I dont know how to balance combat and civil skills to get safely rough all the parts where the lore is hidden.

There's not many lore parts that require combat. I guess I always kill the idiot at Saross, but most people I avoid with talking skills; I'm not too proud to pay the thugs in the Maadoran slums. I guess the main combat portion for me consists of fighting in the arena; I like to get past the initial stage, help with the inn/brothel, and then go kill the hundred swords. After that, I don't get into fights anymore. I would say that a 4 str 6 dex 8 or 9 per is good to go. You want high perception anyway, because otherwise you will miss a lot of lore content.

Just put 4 or 5 points in xbow, put some in alch, and then you're set. When combat begins, run to a corner and drop fire. Poison will be doing somewhere between 5 to 9 damage a turn, and nobody can touch you unless they have range. Heavy xbow only needs 6 ap to reload, then 2 to shoot, so you're good to go. If you are really scared of ranged opponents, or just want to hold stuff in your off-hand, use a hand crossbow and carry a tower shield. Bring some acid to break enemy shields and armour, too. You will be able to beat any fights that are necessary for lore, and you will have only spent a few points in xbow and dodge or block.

Is charisma at ten actually needed to get all the lore stuff or is int at ten enough and charisma is only needed tat high for a grifter game? I wanted to push lore/crafting for the loremaster with persuasion but I am unsure about sneak, traps and lockpick

If you just want the lore stuff and don't want to influence anybody, I'm tempted to say that Charisma is a dump stat. Problem is, if you dump it you will have a tough time passing some of the speech skill checks that lead to the lore, in which case you need to be a tough fighter. With my lore characters, I never dump charisma; I often leave it at 6, and maybe bump it to 7 to get a little boost and some free training. Try this build: 4 str, 6 dex, 6 con, 9 per, 9 int, 6 char. I got all the content recently with that exact set of attributes; I used xbows, dodge, alchemy for combat. There are two constitution checks that require con 7, but you can upgrade your constitution to 7 (or even 8 if you take a particular path) by the end of Maadoran (the check is optional, too, and kind of a dick move).

FOR EXAMPLE, you could dump all your charisma, but at Inferaie you are going to have to fight a difficult battle AND/OR face a high lore/int check. If you were a better talker, you could make a new friend and have him teach you some important skills. On the other hand, if you want to get into the tower of zamedi, that fight might be your only way in (depending on the plot path you took)...

What do you need the 9 perception for? I thought 8 was good enough for all lore stuff.
There is at least 1 higher perception check in Teron (in one of the houses where an armour is hidden) so I assume there are more. And it's a stat very important for throwers (i.e. bowmen, crossbowmen and pitchers).

You're probably right. Maybe the abyss needs 9 if you don't help Feng? And the scrolls by the creature? I like to be safe, and with Xbows strength becomes a dump stat.

Somebody killed Ordu's group playing assassin? I have nets and one bomb, but they are to tough. My skills are 4 dagger, 4 dodge, 3 critical. I have 3 streetwise and can evade combat, but I am curious about this fight.

I wish game was a bit less stingy with SPs but this is the charm of the game that you have to prioritize and that merely walking away with your hide intact a few shekels more is great achievement.... and who locked the doors in the Con encounter I died relying on chock point which was taken away? Also giving you option to use the SP you got and not being forced to leave to Matandor streight away would be nice....
So faggots what is more profitable for Praetor? raising Lore to 5 to turn smelter into producing blue steel or crafting to same amount for getting the gadget from Tower and upgrade your gear Can't do both.

Anything to do in

the mountain facility? I found a green jar there, read some lore and ran a scan on myself using the old world healing thingamajig. It says it needs some special liquid to work. I assumed it was the jar of green goo I found in the locked box nearby, but I don't get any option to use it. So what do I do with the green liquid assuming this is all working as intended and where - if you can - do I find the stuff needed to get the healing coffin to work?

EDIT :- Woops. The machine works, I'm just not playing the game as intended. (i.e. not cheating the fuck out of it)

What? No, I have no sense of shame.

Agathoth's bitch slap and practically-impossible-to-block-100%-of-the-time tentacle barrage can still kill you reliably though. Although it works both ways, you can pump yourself full of alchemy and have fun dealing like 50+ damage an attack to him

A question about the ending:

I played through with a merchant and an assassin, and basically got only the "bad" endings, ie. become the Balazar/Alogtoth slave, nuke myself and Balazar for Alogtoth, or kill them both.
However, I have the surgical kit from the library, but I can't figure out how to use it.
I'm guessing I should operate on myself (the guy who installs the eye gives me nothing) and then perform the ritual on myself, but I can't choose that option if I go with Meru.
I have the coordiantes for Al'Akia from the Arch and the Astrolabe, yet I also can't find a way to travel there alone.
