Is the problem bad enough to warrant that?

The difference between vanilla and this mod is huge. Even if you run the game at 4K aliasing is still awful. There's also a mod that enhances the graphics settings, adding better draw distance and higher resolution shadows. https://www.nexusmods.com/alienisolation/mods/19
Not as necessary as AA mod but still nice to have. Just don't use the new reflections, those are shit.

The VR support has already been built in from the start. Guys from IGN even played it in VR during some early promotions but then it was just dropped yet the almost finished code is still inside.

Why did they bothered releasing a video series and a mobile port then? It's hands down the scariest VR game, just publish it on PSVR2 and you'll get guaranteed sales.

AI had OK sales but Sega went on to ream CA for the poor return on investment. The story floating about was that if Sega kept the development money in the bank, they would have made the same amount the game ultimately made. CA went on to sack most of the AI team to placate Sega.

Leak Alert: Alien Isolation 2 & More Incoming!

Grain of Salt

Hey everyone. I’ve just learned some info from a former Creative Assembly developer I met in a tech layoff community. Here's the scoop from our conversation:

Alien Isolation 2: Three years into development. It continues Amanda's journey, ignoring the events of Alien: Blackout.

Movie Tie-ins: With the recent hype around "Alien Romulus," the game is expected to be announced soon. The movie includes multiple references and Easter eggs from Isolation, and the director wants to create a sequel integrating more of Amanda’s storyline.

10-Year Anniversary Treats: An official VR release and a remastered version of the original game are in the works to celebrate its anniversary. Both games were outsourced by 20th Century Studios. CA is not directly involved in these.

Big Reveal Planned: The sequel, remaster, and VR game are likely to be announced together around the October anniversary, with a possible teaser at Gamescom. The remaster should arrive near the 10-year mark, the VR game is expected in 2025 to avoid competing with Rogue Incursion, and the sequel in 2026. The team has hinted on Twitter, including a reunion post saying, "Sevastopol lives."

I mean, it's possible. Then again, it's reddit.

Well, I've seen Romulus, even though I've skipped all the recent sequels/prequels from Scott.

I have to admit, it's a fine entry in the series, despite all the reservations that I had (some of which, with some merit) going in.
And I found myself thinking about this game several times.

Was Romulus its own thing, or was it just a remake with a new name slapped on because they wouldn't get away with remaking one of the most iconic sci-fi movies of all time?

well I'd say is its own thing.
As far as I understood it happens between Alien and Aliens.

Obviously some situations will feel familiar but I'd put those in the tribute/genre staples category rather than talking about remakes.
The only major issue I have with this movie is how fast the aliens grow. I mean perhaps it's canon, I don't know, but it's still silly.
There are other issues but less relevant in my opinion.

Other than those the movie is good and quite spectacular visually.

How did you see Romulus already? I thought it was releasing tomorrow (Aug 16).

As for the Alien Isolation 2 rumor, I think it's most likely bullshit. Most of the devs who made the first game don't even work at Creative Assembly anymore.

I really love the idea of this game, but I keep getting killed over and over again.

Playing on novice, lol. I also fail every quick-time event. I don't think my key presses are registering.

I might start again and just explore the station before the alien shows up.

I think this game is great but the randomized enemy behavior is a major failing. You can do everything right and still get caught; at least, that's how it felt for me. There were several sections where once I decided on a decent strategy I would still have to try several times and hope the alien didn't randomly appear where I went ... and eventually this would work.

Yeah, it's definitely random. A couple of times I've basically given up my life just to save the game. Knowing that once I've reloaded, the alien will be gone.

A sequel could possibly be good. The Alien/Aliens franchise has a pretty good batting average as far as movie licensed games go.

The first time I met the alien in a vent my soul almost left my body. It was a pretty great change of pace considering vents are usually safe places in stealth games.
