Am I naive to think AP will succeed?

AP will own. This is from the makers of the excellent MotB, so stop bitching and give Obsidian some kudos.

Yes, and awesome maker of KotOR2, NWN2 and SoZ.

R00fles!

Two of these are indeed awesome.

R00fles!

Considering the quote as a whole, yes. K2 and MotB.

Nah, I think it will get lots of sales. There's a rather big hypecampaign going on for this game...
There is? Somehow I must have missed that.

I just hope it'll be much better than Mass Effect. But hope is for faggots.
It will be. At the very least, it will have good writing.

I hope that it does well, but I'm afraid that the game doesn't show very well. It looks very plain, and I haven't picked up on any buzz for the game outside of the circles that are already familiar with Obsidian.

Judging from the screenshots i guess the mechanics will much like DeusEx, messing with computers and cameras, going stealth or going in force. Maybe using dialog, occasionally , to get a small advantage.

It's still an interesting premise but I'm afraid if will have linear story and uninteresting combat like KotoR.

Well then, considering this quote as a whole, now it's 5: K2, KotOR2, SoZ, MotB (x2)

Would you feel better if I told you that Storm of Zehir never happened, and it is in fact just a product of your fragile, delusional, schizophrenic mind?

Where's KOTOR3?

Where's BG3?

Bioware CHOSE to leave the BG franchise cause they thought it was done. Unlike other companies, milking existing properties isn't among their priorities although it would still be much easier for them and probably more profitable. Obsidian on the other hand was DEEMED incompetent which led Kotor now to becoming a MMORPG. Whatever sales Kotor 2 got was only due to the brand name established by Kotor 1 plus for simply being a Star Wars game.

I'm a fanboy of the absolute lowest degree so I know I'm going to enjoy Alpha Protocol like all holy motherfucking roastbeef n' cheese. The game simply looks good, a bit silly - like I want my spy franchises. And the fact that Obsidian has pretty much gathered quite a collection of talented people leads me to believe it's going to be awesome.

Did Alexander Brandon have time to do some music for it before he left the company?

We're done with Baldur's Gate. What do we do now? Let's do another Forgotten Realms game where you play as a hero who must destroy an unknown ancient evil. Brilliant!

We're done with Neverwinter Nights. What do we do now? Let's do a Star Wars game where you play as a hero who must destroy an unknown ancient evil! Brilliant! Let's use some story elements we picked up on while we worked on Baldur's Gate! Good idea!

We're done with KOTOR. What do we do now? Let's make an action rpg set in a fictional, asian mythology-themed world where you play as the chosen one who must destroy an unknown ancient evil! Brilliant!

We're done with Jade Empire. What do we do know? Let's make another action rpg. Alright, but let's set it in space again! Yeah, we can have the player dress up as a hero who must destroy an ancient evil! Again? Hey, if it ain't broke don't fix it, that's what I say. Good point!

Yeah, when he puts it that way, Baldur's Gate is pretty much one of the most innovative RPGs ever made, as you don't actually have to kill any unknown ancient evils.

Yeah, and that logic pretty much sucks.
So what, we're supposed to call MotB NWN 3 or what?
Because it really does continue the story after the main NWN 2 story arc
Oh, and mentioning MotB, you've said on numerous occasions that it is nothing to be excited about, because it is *only a mere* expansion pack. So now you say BG 3 = TOB, which by chance *is* an exp. pack

I just hope unarmed combat is a valid option in alpha proticol; the game begs for different artial art styles and animations.

That was a weak rant, doozer. I tried reading your whole post but stopped somewhere in the middle due its predictability and banality. If I missed something, which I doubt, please someone else inform me.

The issue here was the departure from a profitable and highly successful franchise and not whatever elements Bioware recycle in their games. It is commendable that Bioware didn't sit on the success of BG but risked developing new properties and spending time and resources on building new engines when all they could do was milking BG. Whether they were good or not or these properties were interesting is irrelevant here. But I guess you couldn't miss this opportunity for a straw man bashing.

And if Bio are recycling same characters and storylines (which most developers do and it is hypocrisy and pretense only to accuse Bio of doing so) how does it feel being a fanboy of Obsidian who recycle ENTIRE Bio games like NWN2 does with BG 2, and whose contribution to the genre has only been backwards by relying on their second-rate Bioware pedigree and milking the NWN franchise with shitty expansions like SoZ.

So if you cannot address properly a point made in a conversation, then maybe you should go back mastering your sack of Obsidian.

"Bioware - Giving you the same game over and over again."

...and brought to you by Obsidian Entertainment.

Cloaked douchebag aka Village Idiot, declineofthecodex, ban him, insert Arcanum discs in his mommas anus, dumbest poster of the codex ever.

This is financial/business risk I brought up, not gameplay related.

Try opening up a conversation with me when you grow something else to replace the pinball you call a head.
