You need a 80+ social inner and enough hate toward yourself to stomach the social minigame.
100 social inner with ++ talent, and not forgetting to actually ask about mysteries. On the other hand reaching day 500 without opening secret stash in ruins of original sect is an achievement by itself. Especially when you start as single character with broken meridians.

- both leads worked for 5 years on mobile games and hated doing shit games. They played rimworld and loved it and wanted to make their own rimworld but with chinese fantsy. They both quit their company and started working out of small two bedroom flat dai in and day out barely walking out to conserve money
Yea that shows. This game has BAD influences from mobile games. You paid money, now you click click click to exploit resources. And the game isn't trying to simulate much. Which is one reason why combat skills are not growing, and why when you get a 2 year cat, it will not become grown up cat at 3rd year and instead if you transform the cat, you get 22 year old cat woman with stats as if you transformed 1 year old cat. And no it doesn't grow up.

But there are further problems caused by not simulating dynamic of 12 sects on that map.

- third member joined along the way while making ACS1
- game was released in poor state and early access when at the time chinese didn't know waht EA was.
Yup, capitalistic society glorifies profit and allow release of nearly anything as commercial product.
- they hit 90+ rating on steam (over positive)
- They ton of money but decided to invest pretty much everything into studio and hiring
- they are hiring people and currently they are at 25 people working on ACS2.
And now we are in completely predictable phase number 2. Where people gets money and without any experience how to manage larger team, they are trying to run commercial company.
ACS 2 has completely expected year delay.

- they don't want ACS2 to be released as early access.
- almost all systems in ACS2 are brand new and they are excited by those ideas/systems when people will get them in their hands
- they are not willing to share anything about ACS2 because they fear people will copy their bew ideas very quickly before ACS2 will come out.
Oh yea, Chinese copies everything.

Can we have one click favor integrated in ACS 1 difficulty settings? And can they learn from their mistakes? That info box in difficulty setting still has obtrusive behavior.

Edit: and of course increase stats that costs 150000 and is on primordial stage will not increase when stat is 0.

Best game got better. Especially for those who have already some hours with it.

For one you can now get it on GOG
Secondly after saying they are done with the game they added again something to it:

  • Select Heavenly Chaos when starting a new game to enter this new gameplay. Once any Heavenly Dao is activated, the game will trigger a Heavenly Chaos event at a predetermined time based on its rules, completely altering the gameplay.

  • Yin Yang Chaos (Over 100 types each for Yin and Yang):
Select one from each of the four groups of Yin Yang effects to form a complete chaos event, which will take effect within a certain duration.
Every bit helps, the more the better!

Heavenly Creed Explanation:
  • Taishi: Gain three consecutive Constant Heavenly Chaos events at the start of a new game.
  • Taizhong: Trigger one Turbulent/Yin Yang/Constant Heavenly Chaos event every 10/50/100 days.
  • Taizhen: Trigger one Yin Yang Heavenly Chaos event for every level increase in Sect Reputation; trigger Constant Heavenly Chaos every six times.
  • Taixu: Each time a Sect disciple achieves a breakthrough, there is a chance to trigger a Heavenly Chaos event.
  • Taixuan: Cannot manually select the effects of Turbulent Heavenly Chaos and Yin Yang Heavenly Chaos.
  • Taiyi: After the effects of Turbulent Heavenly Chaos take effect, there is a probability to reset one effect.
  • Taiji: When obtaining Turbulent Heavenly Chaos and Yin Yang Heavenly Chaos, expand the random range of chaos effects.

Under the influence of Heavenly Chaos, we can no longer predict whether a game session will end in soaring success or relentless misfortune. Best of luck to everyone.

I still don't get how fucking awesome this game is and how they were able to make it so good. It's game design is art onto itself with so many mechanics and systems tying into each other so well.

Saw this thread bumped and decided to buy the game. I am 25 ingame days in. I have never tried out these 2D survival games before where you control several characters like an RTS before. I started with five beastpeople (I rerolled until they won't hit tribulation until 400+ days in, hopefully I will have figured out the game and be prepared by then, will probably gane iver to the 200 day dragon first) and just ascended two guys from outer to inner disciple (wolf man was able to train super fast, used the pill on my rabbit). Biggest issue I am facing right now is lack of food and fabric. I will have soon planted wheat across half of the map, not sure if it will be harvested before winter, and my animal people are complaining about it being too hot during summer, and I have no cotton to create lighter clothes. I should probably start planting cotton but I am afraid I won't have enough food for the winter, and I have picked up two refugees so I also not only need to grow more food but build more houses, but the two inner disciples don't want to be roommates with anyone which means more limited space is lost. I have been staying away from the bottom 1.3rd of the map. Just enchanted two bows into poor magical artifacts for my two inner disciples to equip to try to improve their morale, but I feel there is little else I can do about their abysmal Qi gain right now with no materials. Also having an issue with their low mental states, even though their mood is high.

The best part about this game is uncovering complexity and new stuff so my tips won't spoil you anything. Those will be general tips to play and set your expectations:
  • Game looks like Rimworld but doesn't play at all like Rimworld. Your goal isn't to build best colony/sect. Your goal is to produce most powerful beings around that singlehandly can shoot your sect into stratosphere of wealth and prestige.
  • Don't treat it as RTS. Treat it more like top down RPG with few characters. Cultivators are your characters while outer disciples (non cultivators) are basically background you shouldn't care much about. So it's less about basebuilding and more about RPG.
  • Your cultivators are operators while sect is your backbone. Your cultivators work toward sect wealth and future generations while sect works as baseline from which your new cultivators may rise. You can focus on creating singular uber man from start but if you invest in sect instead it provides jumpboard for others to become uber with less cost and faster.
  • Sect reputation is effectively difficulty scaling. The more reputable your sect is the harder it becomes.
  • If you win battles or events you gain sect reputation if you lose you lose sect reputation. Kind of autobalance.
  • Losing is fun. You will lose multiple times before you will be able to have a good years long run.
  • Losing doesn't mean the end. You lost your best cultivator ? Tough luck.
  • "Immortal mode" is standard difficulty. Non-immortal model is considered tutorial.
  • Achieving Golden Core is super easy and this should be your goal early game. GC is considered becoming cultivator that can at least defend himself.
  • Food/clothes/buildings is considered stuff that you do barely care about. Sure it takes time to set up some but after a while you focus on culvitation not on running mundane stuff. If you lack food just kill animals and if you killed them all just go with your cultivator as "adventure" to village near your sect it often gives you meat.
  • Game world is large and it will take your ton of time to explore everything. That knowledge will be fundamental to future runs.
  • Game also has events. Knowledge of them will also improve your later runs.
  • Getting high end resources is easy. Getting them at scale is hard.

If you get into it like me, you are getting yourself into 1000s hours of gameplay. I am sitting currently at 350h and i maybe scratched 40-50% what game offers.
