About 8 meters beneath sea level.
Asked some questions and they quickly responded.

Yes we have classes and each character can either choose from a pre-made class or create his own.
We will have more animations yes.
The retro art style is what we're going for, yes.
Npcs do in fact react to your actions and when you steal will either attack you or run away and alert a guard (depending on their individual temperament).

I'm fine with the background art. Some of it even looks quite neat. The character art is horrible, though. What about that white edge that shows the active character?

I like the environments. The main grating thing is the cell-based jumping. They need to smooth that out. Of course that would make the lack of walking animation stand out even more.

This is why isometric graphics are a pain in the ass. Without normal walking animation, you end up with an immediate "WTF am I looking at" entry barrier that requires effort to overcome.

WTF, people, why so much negativity? It's a nice little project and they asked just 15K. We funded Dead Vaporware State and Project Fucking Eternity with a gazillion $$$....

Exactly. This could actually get released in a few months and then people would have to play it. Large scale decline-induced raging ensured.

Individually, they ask for the same amount of money for the basic game as Wasteland 2. It's ¾ of what Project Eternity wanted to have for a copy of their game. I'm not sure if that is prudent. Why not ask for $7.50. That's not too bad if all you want to reach is $15k.

Hey guys, I'm the creator and lead developer of Antharion.

Thanks a lot for your feedback, it's all very much appreciated (yes, even the negative!). Antharion isn't a mainstream RPG, it's a niche game aimed at people like us, that's why your feedback is so important to me. And I'm always happy to answer questions that any of you may have.

Thanks,
Ari

Have you thought about putting an option to make the heads smaller? I find it really irritating and I suspect that I'm not alone. It looks like it could be a decent game but such big heads are one of the few things that turn my stomach in games.

Making heads smaller would take virtually no work at all. And if it becomes apparent that that's what the community as a whole wants, then that's what I'll do.

If the Kickstarter is successful I'll consider adding walking animation and more combat animations, so long as it doesn't affect core gameplay.

Hail, Ari

Can you confirm what are the 5 character races?

Thanks!

The five races are Human, Necrophil (the dark purple/demonic looking creatures), Elf, Orc, and Lynx (the cat-like one). Every race has a very different place in the game. Necrophils are self-replicating magically conjured beings. Orcs ruled the empire for thousands of years through brute force, but recently with advances in the understanding of magic, most Orcs were taken as slaves by the dominant races (humans ands elves). Lynx have a shiesty reputation and tend to live amongst themselves or alone.

One of their main goals is to port it to the iPad so I'm not pledging.

A little over a year ago Antharion was just a dream. Today the game's engine and development tools are complete and the challenges from here on out will consist mainly of: (1) polishing core gameplay mechanics (such as combat and magic); (2) producing content (such as more pixel art, animations, and an original soundtrack) to fill up Antharion's massive open-ended world; and (3) porting Antharion over to the iPad without compromising core gameplay. We're confident that reaching our goal will allow us to overcome these as well as any future challenges.

I think it sounds quite good. The headsizes don't bother me at all, but like Trash I would like to see some walking animation (could be a very simple 2-frame walking animation for I care) because it looks a bit weird if attack etc. is animated but walking is not.

I really like the dark dungeon environments. I have some questions regarding the TB combat (and other things) but I'll let you elaborate on that in the interview ;)

the game looks interesting and with lots of potential... but I've donated lots of gold lately and I've promise dmyself NO MORE money wasting. I'll think about this one.
