Do you have a life?

A Fagnux user asking if someone has a life. Priceless. :smug:

Well, who keeps 6tb games installed?

~ :) du -sh wine*
609M wine-fallout1
7.2G wine-newvegas
1.2G wine-morrowind
5.9G wine-thevoid
15G total

Well, since you asked - not me. I had do give up full-time work a couple of years ago to become a full-time carer for my mother who has advanced Alzheimer's, so yeah not much of a life these days. Pleanty of time for this shit though.

Those 6TB+ of installed games have built up over a number of years, I install them, play 'em (or not) and then move the whole game folder over to an archive drive. I just keep buying new drives as I run out of space. I have pleanty of PC's to stick'em in (a couple even running Linux).

Also, apart from the installed and runnable versions of the games - I have all their installation files (binary images, ISO's etc.), plus all thier associated patches, mods, expansions, docs etc. in a seprate set of folders/drives, which amount to another 6TB or so.

Though I admit, it is a bit of an obsession with me - I even have a separate PC for torrenting and it's mostly going 24x7. I intend to have on hand, and playable at a moments notice - every half-decent game ever made for PC or Console. Dunno, if I'll ever get there, but it keeps me occupied. :smug:

Yeah, that config would be pretty nightmarish. I don't doubt it is possible, but you'd probably have to go down to xrand config file instead of the (nice) autoconfig system they have nowadays.
I only changed when ubuntu changed the xrand system to autoconfig anyway. Fuck programming monitors.

I was having weird random glitches. Maybe this will fix them.

Also, does the new installer mean I don't have to run the game in compatibility mode?

I run Arcanum in Windows 7 64 bit without compatibility mode and I don't have any problems. I doubt they even changed anything in the GoG release except for possibly stealing another nocd crack.

Whatever glitches you're having may be due to a hardware issue or some shit.

This thread is (almost) perfectly derailed, so a good moment to tell that you have a typo in your signature.
