Dang it doesn't work on my m11x w/win 7 64-bit. I remember it worked on my old computer with a Radeon card and win 7 but I don't have a desktop anymore for now.

Seems like it's the NVidia drivers fucking things up. I followed all the help I could find to get it to work.

Or perhaps I should just install XP for the odd game that doesn't work...
Did you try the latest patch that was released along with the sourcecode? According to the patch notes, Win7 support was added to the game.

That's the first thing I did. With or without the patch, or any other sort of compatibility settings, it still refuses to even boot. On my older computer it didn't have the patch and the thing booted up without any modifications.

This wouldn't be the first time that newer drivers fucked up an older game, far from it.

Arx Fatalis Linux port status update:

This game is one of those that suffers from that infamous mouse relative movement bug in wine (horizontal mouse movement stays locked to a 180º fov so you can't move well).
Good to see it gone in your port (though not too good fps there, raw wine is probably better still outside of the main menu but that is probably my computer being more recent).

I'm not directly involved in the port. I'm just an interested bystander who hangs around in their IRC channel :)
