You know, there aren't many JRPGs with isometric view and single player combat that have a "mature" theme with "C&C" and "Branched story-line".

I prefer team based combat, not too fussed about C&C nor branching stories.

Isometric, mature theme alone would be a good starter. I'll check out that nocturne one now that someone's actually posted links to it. Edit: no, wait, it was just OST, nevermind..

You've been told before those sounds can be changed and even individual SFX muted or edited in-game. But you just had to repost your shit quality video to illustrate your moot point

Just like how you're being intentionally obtuse with regards to understanding English, it's because you don't actually have anything to back up your blanket-statements and vapid opinions

I'm always amazed by some people's eagerness to convince some clueless retards / trolls to try game / genre X.
You want to try a game / genre? Please do. You don't? I don't fucking care. You don't have a knowledge about certain subject (like the difference between Final Fantasy 7, SMT - Nocturne and Front Mission 3)? Please, STFU.

Esp. on a gaming forum, I think we can expect from people to actually move their proverbial ass and invest some time into playing a game without external encouragement and giving them complex explanations about why they should.
I'm bored to death with fags asking for "jRPG, but with great gameplay, mature theme, Fallout C&Cs, ID2 graphics, fantastic visceral combat and Desu Ex level design). You know what? Find me a western game like that, and I'll gladly play it.

Now STFU / GTFO.

And you're being deliberately over-butthurt because you can't understand that if the game makes you want to turn off the music and sound effects then it suggests the game has been shittily designed. Imagine if Obsidian released a game with sounds like that, and some tosspot like you said "well, you can just it off, hurr, durr" - yeah... right...

PC master race said:
Having problems finding anything on nocturne, its too generic a word, keep getting links to league of legends, some adventure horror game and the first game you mentioned.
It looks like glorious pc master race needs help with finding info about certain game. Let me help:

Let me know if you have trouble with finding non-PC pirated games too. As an unwashed consoletard, I think I can help.

Yeah, imagine, asking for recommendations on a specialist site, who'd'a'thunked it. That automatically demands everyone flip their lid and go into butthurt overdrive, sure.

You don't wanna recommend, then don't. Nobody asked you to post the fact that you don't want to post any content either, that's something you chose to do yourself. I'm amazed you're bored to death from people asking for ""jRPG, but with great gameplay, mature theme, Fallout C&Cs, ID2 graphics, fantastic visceral combat and Desu Ex level design)" because I've never seen anyone ask for that, you've just taken one phrase I used and applied a whole load of other shit you invented on the spot.

But you got a Goldfist, so whatever, I'm out. Guess I shan't be bothering with jRPGs after all, the community is clearly mental and far too prone to butthurt...

To be fair, if you are well educated about a given subject, you don't necessarily always need first hand information to make a judgement call about certain qualities of said subject. You all make informed decisions without first hand experience all the time, or you would have to buy every single RPG and try it out for yourself to decide if you might like it or not. Instead you apply your knowledge of the subject beforehand and then decide if that RPG, that movie, that book would be for you or not. I wouldn't go into detailed analysis about something that I don't know myself and it bothers me when people do that but I can form a first basic opinion regardless.

With regard to grinding, I am not really into JRPGs myself either but from the olden days I remember stuff like Phantasy Star 1 & 2, which did require grinding. I can even think of JRPG blobbers like Shining in the Darkness. Its not that outlandish an opinion to have, not sure why everybody shits on ID. The FFs I played didn't require grinding as far as I recall but they did require very frequent combat that certainly felt like grinding - even if it technically wasn't - because it always brought gamplay to a - wait for it - .... g r i n d i n g halt! (Ba-dum-tss)

I kinda like this guy. He causes butthurt in every other thread he appears in, oft with people initially trying to have serious & honest argument with him even tho:
1. He fucking keeps doing it, again and again
2. He puts next to no effort into hiding his actual goal

I know not if this speaks well of him or poorly of the rest of you, what with you coming off as being extremely naive and, beneath that painted edge, dangerously good-natured.

IncendiaryDevice You can try Breath of fire : Dragon Quarter if you want a short JPRG with a tactical layer for combat although you play as children and it's not particularly mature, but a lot of the good ones are indeed blobbers and SMT:Nocturne is truly awesome.

If jRPGS weren't obsessed with stuff like grinding and repetition I'd be more interested in them.
Name a few that are.
Every single Final Fantasy game - this is a jRPG example, not a dungeon crawler like the game this thread is about, which is what they call a DRPG these days (dungeon RPG) - has been designed to be beatable with minimum level. I've beaten most of them myself at minimum level. And that's just the biggest franchise!

So the onus is on you: which jRPGs are obsessed with grinding? Name one where it's required to beat the main story, excluding optional hard modes or optional bosses.

FF1. Random encounterville.

Insert Title Here RPG Wokedex Codex Year of the Donut I'm very into cock and ball torture
Grinding means you intentionally do encounters repeatedly to increase your strength in order to trivialize encounters or make them possible. Calling a high random encounter rate grinding is misleading; the word implies intention.

That said you're still off-base since you can flee from the encounters and they are therefore strictly optional if you are confident in your party's strength.

FF1 is grindy as all asshole though and that's not just because of the high rate of random encounters. You will get your shit slapped hard if you aren't leveled up and decked out in gear and it takes forever to level up and save up enough cash to outfit your doods with the latest equipment and spells.

And the butthurt guy starts rating the guy that made them butthurt, butthurt, because that's how you knee-jerk properly.

Well, if it's any consolation IncendiaryDevice, they're only rating you butt hurt because staff has yet to approve the "unlikeable, willfully ignorant narcissist" tag I requested after reading your posts.
