Fallout As someone who loved playing Fallout New Vegas, is there any point in checking out FO3 or FO4?

Of course fucking Cleveland is a FO3 apologist, lmao

Can't win em all.

Emil is a talentless hack who stole from Twilight Zone, Star Trek, and so forth because he couldn't come up with anything himself. He didn't even change the answers in the homework. Fallout 3 might as well have been a "Remember this episode? Remember this short story?" which is really common among media aimed at older generations of people. Pure references with nothing underneath.

Shamus Young (RIP) explained it nicely.

F3 - excellent
FNV - decent
F4 - garbage

F3 is the best Fallout game, it has the most freedom, exploration and atmosphere and is Bethesda at their best. FNV is let down by its many invisible walls and nonexistent dungeons outside of the vaults. Dungeons are basically a garage here and there with a few rooms, although it does have ironsights and some good speech checks. I couldn't play more than a few hours of F4, the main bugbear being the constant narration by the PC, like if you pick a lock he'll comment on it, and I'm just please just STFU. The story is garbage, the whole game is built around a wife/child who the player has no reason to care about. They also stripped all skills It's basically a looter shooter with perks.

I dedicate my next Fallout 4 playthrough to everyone who said

I will make it an extra slow play, 500ish hours worth of exploration, fun, and dialogue that lets me says

in three different flavours, all with the same outcome. Let's go, Dogmeat.

I will never touch a game that has "dialogue compass"

And I hate immersion breaking introduction of endgame content on a low level, like Fallout 4's early power armor and deathclaw or Skyrims early dragon fight. It's so so bad I will never play this stuff.

I feel like Fallout 3 has at least some dignity still. Same as Oblivion. With Skyrim and Fallout 4 Bethesda became full money grabbing rpg traitors.

F4 is at least a cool shooter with decent level design I believe. F3 is just garbage with nothing good in it.

I am playing through Fallout 4 for the first time now. It is formulaic, predictable and somewhat bland. It is also enormous, relatively bug-free (for a Bethesda title and with the unofficial patches) and works reasonably well as a real-time FPS RPG. You can basically modify the game to cater for where you want to spend your time. I actually don't mind settlement building, but its basically 70% of the game and if you don't want to deal with that, you can just mod it out (or make it better, so Sim Settlements 2 mod). You would be certifiably crazy to play anything like this on a console without (dev) console and mod support though.

Both of them are shit shooters unless modded. People stick to FNV because of writing. Also modding community is dope, the game would have been unplayable without them.

Fallout 3 is speaking to a literate nation of science fiction readers who are familiar with this take on the apocalypse, having seen it in other formats many times. It's the classic 1950's apocalypse, a better world before it fell to nuclear war. It represents the fulfillment of the promise of technology to make the world a better place to live. Then this world got nuked. It's still pretty cool.

On my tombstone.

Imagine being this stupid
Although I generally do prefer F3 to FNV fo the reasons given, part of me just loves the sheer, predictable autistic meltdowns FNV cultists display whenever someone doesn't praise their very average looter shooter.
Calling you stupid is an 'autistic meltdown', interesting

You're just a retard, there is nothing in FO3 that's even worthy of licking FNV's boots

The fact that you called it a 'looter shooter' shows your level of intellect pretty well

Before this post was resurrected, the only person to vote yes was a guy who, after taking a shit, washes his asshole off in the sink.

I tried it at one point a year or two ago and am not able to go back to using just toilet paper anymore.
However, do not use just water, you want to use water to wet it, then shampoo to clean it properly, and then rinse it with water and wipe with towel. You can apply toilet paper just after taking a dump so you have to clean less and it feels less icky.

Make sure to use an actual good shampoo, like original (or menthol infused if you can handle that) head and shoulders, which cleans it nicely from funguses as well as bacteria. Also, smells nice (if you use spearmint or menthol one at least).

Also, in my case, because I'm tall, I can just use the sink, so no bidet required for me.
