How does it feel to know you/Obsidian are one of the few great game devs us cynical WRPG fans have left, and that we're all relying on the likes o' youse to maintain quality writing in video games?

I think it's sad, honestly. In my opinion, gamers set the bar very low for good writing.

Is he being self-effacing--ala MCA re: Torment--and implying that his writing's not that good, and therefore the fact that we think it's good is sad (in which case the rest of the gaming world, i.e. everyone outside the Codex, is super-sad)? Because giving a simple safely remote example is such a hard thing. It's not like he was specifically asked what he found badly done and would like to change in a game if he were a part of the dev team. He brought that point up himself and pussied out on his own answer. Similar to how weak pussies express a vague disappointment, discontent about something you do and then refuse talk about it, maintaining a pretentious moral high. Why the fuck bring it up at all if you can't even provide examples and an insight into your own take on combat design so people actually know what you're talking about, what some of your goals and ideals on combat are?

I have not played SoZ, but is it possible it was a Slam Dunk?

A very low budget game.

Just enough extra money for Obsidian from a side project to plough into another one! This is what KotOR 2 was. They made a low budget game from an existing engine and an existing previous game, shipped it, and sold 2 million copies all the same. A Slam Dunk!
