Strap Yourselves In
This is not how you deal with the enemy's machinations. This cucky semi-acquiescing strat, which pervades even this thread, of attempting historical analyses and debating the skintone of some imaginary 'Yasuke' will yield nothing, because the enemy will push back a hundred times harder. They are shameless and care naught about your historical research when they hold the keys to Wikipedia and academia.

Fact: There is no Yasuke. No black man ever served as samurai in Japan. Warriors with darkened skin were either tainted by scars or they were products of mythology, just like yokai.

Think most of this slapfight is just redditors not really understanding the gargantuan gap between "carried a sword in japan" and "samurai"

Ubisoft apologises for unauthorised use of flag in Assassin’s Creed Shadows art
Ubisoft has apologised for the unauthorised use of a historical re-enactment group’s flag in Assassin’s Creed Shadows concept art.

As reported by Siliconera, the flag in question belongs to the Sekigahara Teppo-tai (or Sekigahara gun group) infantryman re-enactment group.

It featured in two pieces of concept art for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, and also appears in the physical artbook included with the collector’s edition of the game.

“The art in question will not be used or distributed any further beyond this date, except for being included in the artbook in the Collector’s Edition,” Ubisoft Japan said in a post on X.

“We deeply apologise for this matter.”

Looks like the historical revisionists won out at wikipedia. He's now listed as a samurai despite it being well known that all of the so-called "references" that label him as such are shit.

Honestly not surprised, but it was interesting to see the war happened even if the result was shit.

It's interesting to see history changing in real time. The account of the Star Wars prequels is now totally different to how it felt if you were alive at the time.

I haven't been into AC since the Ezio games but if they had done a good job with this I probably would have played it. Obviously now with Tyrone as the protagonist they couldn't pay me to.

Hopefully Ubisoft loses a fortune on this coal-burning piece of shit.

"right side of history" people at work.

Oceania had always been at war with Eastasia.

I actually did a lot of digging about why the globohomo hates Japan, and it turns out that when they say "white adjacent" it refers to Tocharian DNA. Apparently there was a lot of interbreeding between the lost Chinese Aryans and the Japanese. I don't know what happens if you bring up the Tocharians to a Blackrock employee or the Devil, they probably melt like the Wicked Witch of the West
