Thanks for the overview Hirato. EOV sounds a tad disappointing. Another full-blown labyrinth is ok in my book, but I'm not sold on subclasses (didn't like it in EOIII), race specific skills (or just the idea of races at all, inb4 elves and dwarves) and voice acting (why?).

Kaneko has more pride than to be a kickstarter stretch goal whore. Basically all the Atlus old guard stepped down after the PS2 era and decided to let new blood come in while they have a more producer-like role. At least it's given more opportunities for people like Masayuki Doi.

I liked Strange journey well enough, for a DS title. Imo it's one of the better entries in the Megaten franchise. But this remake is completely unneccessary. DS games are compatible with 3DS anyway, so it's not like they are porting it to a new console. They are basically giving this to a couple of interns to mess around with it a bit, and change a few things. Low cost, potentially high return. The new art sucks and doesn't mesh well with the older style. We have a new character that looks way out of place and is just waifubait so that Otakus might buy this shit. Just look at that Demeter design. It's a loli that could be found in any shitty 2017 anime. Zeus looks like he came from Pokemon. This game is going to be just worse in every way, and people will lap this shit up. What a travesty.

Doi sucks.
