Unless you abort everyone who is rational or honest, I don't think you'll notice much of a difference.

Game developers are 'sneaky' because a large part of their job is being "used cars salesmen" trying to move their products (honesty is often a firable offense, especially in marketing), but Roguey is right they aren't sneaky about their politics and when it comes to pronoun or gender identity stuff it's less about being sneaky and more about them proceeding as if they've already won the argument.

I don't care about politics, I care about low quality preachy writing, tone, atmosphere and overall quality in games crafted by and for girls / sheltered retards. Now without the autists poisoning the world of man with their general confusion, lack of taste and inability to communicate we'll be exposed to half as many gender freaks and anime watchers. Even that would be a difference all good online citizens will notice and enjoy greatly and that's just scratching the surface.

I swear to god I can't wait until they can detect autism in the womb and mass abortions make them go extinct.

Jesus man, you'd wipe out 80% of the Codex just like that!?
I find the codex is actually not bad, very few posters fall for the autism traps that I leave around to identify them. If I do it anywhere else, I'll catch bags full of them with every post. But then the question is, are they autistic or just bots? Who knows, all the same to me. Get them off the internet.

After that veilguard review, I wouldn't trust anything Mortisimal has to say.
Watching YouTubers is a grave mistake and another step to decline. They are all grifters milking their audience. Give back written revios. I don't have time to watch or listen, but I can read fast and it requires much less time.

What? API is application programming interface.
Lilura jargon. Have never seen literally anyone else use that term, and it apparently just means "games from the late 90s". Remember that Lilura is a pleb who can't into Golden Age CRPGs and who ranks Baldur's Gate as the greatest CRPG of all time. Not somebody to emulate, but here we are.

Everything after Windows 95 made anything more complex than a shooter or puzzle game palatable.

This decline could have been avoided if Codex registration had included one simple question: Do you reject Bioware and all its works? :M

Pronouns are actually a good hint that a game is gonna be unbearable trash, because game developers are sneaky and dishonest so you need to scrutinise everything carefully. That said, you don't need any hints for this one.
Game devs are loud and proud about their liberalism, nothing sneaky about it.
Pronouns in particular broadcast that they are going to self censor on certain topics or themes, the characters will be tokenized purely for diversity's sake, the setting will be like a Seattle Gender Studies Major's fever dream, and everything will play second fiddle to tedious lectures about an unhinged, cultish political ideology.

This place started as a Black Isle/Troika fan site that didn't care too much for ancient dungeon crawlers and Lord British wank.
Original Codex cared even less for Baldur's Gate, while selecting Morrowind as GotY 2002. +M

Cyberpunk, Solasta, Encased, Hogwarts Legacy, Baldur's Gate 3, Starfield, Space Wreck, and Veilguard all bend the the knee to modern gender ideology. It would be perceived as a political statement to handle it the way they used to. Pronouns are just a sign that the developers are liberals, not necessarily any of what you just said considering that a good number of the games I listed don't do what you're talking about.

Of those I've only played BG3 but I can say the woke shit was tacked on like one of those Frankenstein tranny forearm penises right before release, no doubt to appease some WotC handler who is as insane and stupid as I mentioned judging by their handling of D&D... Character creation was not the clunky mess it is now during Early Access.
It's telling how Larian refuses to work with them again even after the massive financial success.

Larian's writers are all left/liberals.

I just discovered that some guy on RPG Codex calls the Divinity writing team the "7-Man Cuck Squad" and honestly, that's quite an honour.

We should get t-shirts made!

Swen is also a liberal. I don't believe he's a big activist about it, but his last blog entry in 2015 was lamenting the lack of women Larian's games were attracting http://web.archive.org/web/20160207134357/http://www.lar.net/2015/09/07/where-are-the-women/

Their issues with WotC were over money/control, not ideology.

Baldur's Gate 3 is a rare exception when it comes to people supposedly 'accepting' pronouns. I doubt very much that it would have been as well received if not for the great amount of freedom that it provides. You can basically kill off pretty much anyone - including your own companions. That generally isn't the case in other games infested with pronouns and they often go out of their way to avoid providing conventionally attractive men and women alike. Especially the fair skinned variety.

It's certainly been criticised for some of the weirder and rather obvious fetish focused pandering present in the game itself, though. The infamous bear sex scene, the disgusting man women like Karlach and Aylin, the mindflayer sex scenes and the eagerness in which certain characters are keen to sleep with the player character and/or engage in an open relationship.

The actual game-play is fairly solid, though - which, again, is why a lot of that is overlooked.

Will Avowed have a similar compromise and flexibility? We'll see. It doesn't seem like you're able to ditch your companions and I won't be surprised if you're railroaded into taking the same trite anti-imperial stance that most modern RPG's with an empire seek to embrace due to the developers desperately projecting their own modern day real world ideals on absolutely everything they touch.

Liberalism is an anti-human movement at the end of the day, the only thing that differs is whether someone supports it due to being a dysgenic spiteful mutant or because they're incredibly naive and believe they'll be spared the consequences of the policies that they support because they're 'one of the good ones'.

Cyberpunk, HL, and Starfield were big sales hits; Cyberpunk was an initial disappointment and Starfield turned out to be one, but it had nothing to do with pronouns. Solasta did well. Space Wreck also did all right with the kind of people who want that kind of thing. Encased failed because it was released unfinished after running out of Early Access money. Veilguard has loads of writing and gameplay issues.

I was complaining about this crap back in 2021, but the market decided without me that it's simply not a dealbreaker. If Avowed fails it won't be because of pronouns.
