You have to be asleep (understandable affliction when playing Pillars) to miss every faction being a variation of "incompetent man vs much more competent wombyn".

It's been years since I played Shittard of Eternity 2, but I'm pretty sure the good ending for the blackwashed Venetian faction required you to side with the ambitious visionary instead of the cutthroat businesswoman.

That only really applies to the natives and the Vailians. Meanwhile the RDC, while female-led, has an equally competent subordinate (and you don't get to pick and choose one over the other) while the Principi are led by a competent guy and he's the better choice for the faction compared to the shortsighted strong womyn pirate. I do agree that it would've been better for the trope not to be present at all though.

Might be the case. Never played with that faction since I find them the least likeable.

I avoided recruiting all the companions that felt obnoxiously woke at first sight (like that furry gnome thing they REALLY wanted you to add to your party early on).
Same, but I kept Xoti because she was useful in combat.

Literally in the intro video they disclose the whole story (you will go to place X to deal with god Z), and then there are no mysteries, no questions, no turns of events through the whole game.
Eh, that's not true. Eothas's motivations and ultimate goal are unknown at first. The gods task you with finding him and asking what he's doing. Then it changes to the impossible goal of stopping him.

I liked Maia and both Eder and Pallegina were ok from the returning cast. Xoti was meh, Tekehu and the pirate were cringe. Aloth as a character was ok, but his companion quest was cringe.

People have been saying for so long "it's better than POE trust me frfr" that I should probably just play it at this point.
