We're going to get a lot of big laughs out of AAA devs for years to come. In 2030 we're going to look at slop coming out that only started development in 2025, and it'll be really obvious that they did a heel turn partway through development when executives started telling them "this woke shit doesn't appeal to anyone and doesn't sell".
I do not work in the industry but I am acquainted with quite a few people who work in entertainment, either as game devs or other areas, and from what I talked with them there has been very little internal pushback against DEI. Quite the opposite in fact, there is a lot of circling the wagons, doubling down on current trens, blaming the 'chuds' for harrasment/grifting leading to poor sales and (the funniest part) pointing at BG3 as a symbol that most gamers love lgb+ themes. Also a lot of crying over right wingers bringing the culture war to the hobby and saying people used to just play video games and didnt care about things like that, while now everyone would rather harrass devs and cheer when a game fails.
I personally wouldnt expect big changes from any established studio.
