It’s not similar, it’s the same outfits. That’s the point, to sell you premium, so you can put your furry friend in your favorite companion’s robe
loool I thought you were joking, there are actually fucking premium skin packs, to think they they were like this once upon a recent time:

posing with the NV display in the shot, yikes
why not an Outer Turds display, huh? HUH?

i wonder if being a '' bethesda like '' game will save this game from getting veilguard tier performance

february is stacked, marketing is not strong and nothing i ve seen from this game generates hype personally

companions ofc are california tier

obsidian is quite close to bioware for me, it s been a long ass time since it did anything i liked. the question is am i just not the target audience, are they shit or both? guess we ll see

So what are people's guesses as to this game's and KCD2 (and other upcoming stuff like MHW or ACS) Steam CCU peak numbers?

These are mine

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2: 300K - 350K
Civilization 7 - 400K
Avowed - 40K
Monster Hunter Wilds - 900K (what people see in this shit I will never understand)
Assassin's Creed Shadows - 35K
Last of Us: Part 2 - 45K

KCD2 will be the big thing, but I'm slowly starting to believe that this here will be a diamond in the rough and better than Outer Worlds. Really like how they show waifufags and coomers the finger. We'll see.

Day 1 premium DLC for a 70 Euros game of 25~ish hours for stuff that used to be in games baseline? Truly shameless. I'm guessing their hoping to leech every last cent of the few suckers dumb enough to buy this.

Why buy it? Normies should play Xbox first party titles with a Game Pass subscription. $12 per month, so if you finish the game in three months you paid $36 total for it. Cheap.

D1Ping is now for super fans only, the equivalent of buying the boxed Collector's Edition in the old days. For example, I D1P'd Pentiment because I wanted to support that kind of niche title.

'niche title'

Is this some kind of a language joke, or what the fuck did they pay you to say Obsidian is niche? Not that long ago they were major RPG developers.

Thanks,
Sherry

Bruh! Don't be that guy! Subscription services are the worst blight gaming has ever seen, a bigger threat than consoles, lootboxes and DRM combined! If, for some tragic and unconscionable reason, a man really wants to play Avowed, he should suffer the $70 and buy it. We all have a right to ruin our own lives, but let's not ruin it for everyone else in the process.

Why not? I'm aware it's a plague on the industry by now but fully fleshed out DLC day one means you are getting ripped off by the base game, which considering they are not exactly one of the industry giants is not something I consider looking good on Obsidian.

Microsoft want you to subscribe to Game Pass and then forget about it so they keep charging your credit card forever. I think that by doing what I described and then cancelling your subscription, you're making them lose money.

Not one of these companions is likable. You can't even bring one cute girl with you to satisfy your male fanbase? Do you hate money or enthusiasm for your game or something. The pink haired furry thing does not count in the least. Who was the most popular companion in BG3 by romances? Learn the lesson.

And since I know the whole thing is going to be a diversity fest I know I won't find a single thing appealing about the characters in the world, and certainly nothing i've seen in any trailer has changed that core assumption. You guys just shoot yourselves in the foot with this stuff. But you have to know that by now.

It's a drug dealer's first "bargain", you'll be back later for another taste and then again some other time. Meanwhile, the business is growing, expanding their base with both temporary and permanent customers, and making extra cash datamining on the side. Eventually, you'll just let them keep your credit card and settle for that "there's nothing better on" model I've ranted about before.

It's a long game and if they weren't the ones winning by the end, they wouldn't let you play it. The best for both you and the medium is to be an exacting customer - pay full market price for the titles that are genuinely worth it and viciously ignore (or mock) everything else.

It seems as if they have taken the bold strategy of making games for the customers they want to exist, rather than the customers that do exist.

Let's see if it pays off! It may be the first time this year! Or even this decade.

They make games for themselves and hope they find an audience, same as Larian and nearly every other dev.

If that is the case, I don't think anyone loves ugly brown people as much as modern video game devs. In fact, I would go as far as to say it's an unhealthy obsession at this point.

I do agree though, most modern video games are a reflection of the mentally ill mind of the creator.

How do you explain both of the games having a setting that has no Africans, Middle-easterners or Asians then? Even old school DND and sword & sorcery has some diversity in that regard. Meanwhile PoE1 setting is just various European cultures and basically savage islanders with a culture that is failing them against more advanced civilizations. Meanwhile it has an extreme attention to detail with regards to Old English, Celtic, Germanic and Mediterranean stuff that with headcanoning that would make even more elaborate hyperborea headlarper blush. No, Vailians don't count because they are obviously not African in the slightest, it is obviously some sort of autism that made them black because the islands are near equator, otherwise their culture is wholly Italian, with Old Vailia being more like South Italy & Spain and Vailian Republics being more alike North Italy.

If that is the case, I don't think anyone loves ugly brown people as much as modern video game devs. In fact, I would go as far as to say it's an unhealthy obsession at this point.

It's a plain circlejerk made with zero knowledge that Americans love to pat themselves on the back for giving representation to other cultures, they don't love brown people, they love the idea that they know them. If the developers loved brown people with an unhealthy obsession they would actually pay some attention to actual details, look at how detail the Germanic Elf culture in PoE1/2 has despite never really featuring in PoE1 and only tangentially featuring in PoE2.
