hehe looks like Beamdog is hostile to the codex

This sort of transparent antagonism may be acceptable on RPGCodex, but it's not acceptable here. @elminster reopened this thread; I'm closing it again.

You got to love how the codex always get's blamed for EVERYTHING!.

No wonder Beamdog does shit like this when the forum is filled with totally enlightened people like that Pekingduckman. They think these people are a majority when they're an extremely small minority that happens to be the most vocal out of any group of people on the internet.

I'm bisexual and therefore part of this 'community'.

I thought bisexuals are not cool anymore since they're not actually oppressed?

But I would bet anything that mod is not even a "part" of that "community", just another SJW who thinks he understands and fights for the poor oppressed minorities.

You are literally costing your self sales

Apparently they think that helps sales since supposedly this is made for a modern audience and that modern audience is all about this.

This is insult for any Pratchett fan, he never was SWJ.

...I recommend you avoid his final books. :M[/QUOTE]

Blame his daughter, fucking bitch. Almost everyone know that she probably helped him with writing those last ones. And at least I don't find it so "LOOK AT IT" as there. Besides, it was rather funny with that it was mostly about dwarves cliche in fantasy, not fucking "I'm a trap, look at me, I'm Tempus bitch trap".

The "all goblins look the same" thing is pretty light-hearted and is the kind of thing that could have appeared in the original games. Actually, I think SJWs might be offended by it.
It's the casual use of the racism word that SJWs like to throw with gleeful abandon nowadays at everything they don't like. Lol it's so wrong to hate the goblins, what did they ever do to anyone, dats rayciss man. Fucking hateful bigots, why do people hate the drow so much, just look at viconia, she's cool and all etc. People in a D&D universe have bigger problems to deal with, that word shouldn't even exist there, it's just there so score SJW points.

Sure they love to throw it around but in this case that line could easily be perceived as making light of actual real life racism (against Asians). It's a joke line, to these people you're not supposed to joke about racism.
Racism against asians, just what I like to be reminded of when I play a fucking fantasy game

Of course not. Most gays / bi's are normal people who don't let their sexuality indetify their personalities, but rather their hobbies, passions... like normal people. The SJW internet type is just some obscure deranged individual that has been brewing in the depths of mordor for centuries and has now finally found it's way to the world.

I have yet to play this game, but gosh, the fact this is an issue proves the entire bullshit of the SJW agenda.

I really couldn't care less about a transgender character in a Baldur's gate game, a gay one in Mass Effect, or whatever. I really don't give a fuck, as long as it's written decently. This character is badly written ? Bah, apparently, she's a minor one. I would have gone and moved to something else without taking so much of a notice. The issue is that there is a pressure group that makes the appearance of such a character appear completely dubious, forced, quota-imposed whereas nobody would have even cared before.

Still, the best attitude is to not give a shit. Let it go. Let it die. Don't answer. Just do your thing.

Some of you guise are getting as triggered as Carl about that jokey racism line.

Perhaps the only good one. You know you've succeeded when you've pissed off both ends of the horsehoe.

9 pages in a week. I mean, that's CRAZY!

23 pages in 4 days doesn't even get close to that!

Of course a new release is going to get far more attention than something a year old. Meanwhile, take a look at how many pages of discussion Shadowrun, Wasteland, D:OS, or Underrail have gathered this past week.

Where's the supposed "mansplaining" quote supposed to be? I want to see how jarring it is.

That sounds plausible, since she is a rabid SJW...
Since you are a fan of Thief series, you probably remember that "madame" from brothel level in NotThief 2014. That character was apparently inserted and written by her, and unsurprisingly same character turned out out to be a glaring two dimensional stereotype that was as likely to offend actual transsexuals as anything (which is typical for LGBT characters that are forcefully inserted in games by these guys).

This sucks. I was actually going to buy this but I can't support this Gaider token one-dimensional characters there only to promote a political agenda.

PC RPG Website of the Year, 2015 Make the Codex Great Again! Grab the Codex by the pussy Insert Title Here RPG Wokedex Divinity: Original Sin 2 A Beautifully Desolate Campaign Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. Pathfinder: Wrath
So the SJW tongue in cheek barks are reserved for the rare selection sounds. Rare, like the gender of an aromasexual panda?

If we put this in perspective, I think if someone plays SoD 10 years from now, let's hope the game deserves being replayed 10 years from now in the first place, they will read those lines, hear those barks and just laugh at the "reference to some stupid ass weirdo movement in the 2010s", without giving it a second thought.

lol, let's try to be constructive ITT.

So, in the end, is this worth playing or not?

Ask yourself this - what would make a genuine Infinity Engine game not worth playing in your opinion? Then ask the people who have played the game whether it has those things.

:bro:

In principle, the Forgotten Realms have always been very modern in their outlook. Of course, what's modern changes with the times.

Bland, copy-pasted fights; uninspired locales; level-scaling (lol); pathetic difficulty; filled with fluff that wastes time; cringe-worthy writing alla D:OS; etc. etc.

I repeatedly come back to this thread to find an answer to your question, but all i get from it is the incontestable assurance of the codex' unwavering obsession with trannies.

I have never seen a tranny in my life, but still somehow they always make their ways into my games. It's kind of fishy.

Have you played it? Mind sharing your opinion?

No, I haven't yet, but it's weird to me that folks who I know are Infinity Engine fanatics, who are really mad about PoE because it wasn't similar enough to IE etc, are like "is this worth playing"? I mean, if not this then what?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that for you it is worth playing. Unless the game is literally composed of endless corridors of trash mobs ala Curst in PS:T, and I don't think it is, I'm pretty sure you'd find it at least okay. The only question is how much you're willing to pay for it. Which I guess is what that question is really meant to convey, so I'm probably overreacting here.
