The EEs were made with the condition that nothing would be touched from the original games, content wise. That's why the only thing they could do was adding stuff on top of them, not changing anything. If I understand what you say correctly, doing what you suggest implies the whole introduction segment would have to be changed. Beamdog couldn't do that.

As for Mizhena, I dont care about people putting trannies in games or preaching about values of diversity or any other SJW bullshit. lmao average on metacritic is 3.7 aswell, didn't bother playing this game because i played enough bg for one lifetime and i really can't see this being any good but i bought a steam copy just to leave a negative review then refunded it

While I do hope Beamdog learns that you cant just forcefully insert your social and political views in a game and get a free pass, I think that writer chick is beyond salvation.

I do find this situation with Beamdog sticking with their writer funny seeing how Obsidian caved the moment some random SJW looked their way.

I have little sympathy for them. This shit should have been learned when they were children. You don't try to manipulate people like they are animals, and you sure as hell don't piss in the face of your customers when they have a civil objection (there are a lot of very, almost "apologetic" complaints made that Beamdog just flipped the bird to, attacked and insulted). Seriously, their behavior is unacceptable for a company, hell... for even normal adults in any official capacity this is bullshit. This garbage should have been caught before release and dealt with and someone should have reigned in the employees before they started mouthing off. I sincerely hope it caves the company. Yeah, I know... not everyone who works at a job is supportive of what decisions that get made, but it is about time people actually took responsibility for their involvement. Maybe the best way to save their company's reputation would be to make a total 180 degree turn on the subject matter and replace all the slaves in the guild with trannies, which give huge XP if you VATS them in the crotch. I find it amusing to say the least that "current year" is apparently an argument used on the progressive agenda's favor. I've always read it as the exact opposite. It is BECAUSE we're in 2016 that we don't need this completely oversensitive and insane crusade for equality and acceptance, the western world is already inclusive and open minded. It's a bit unfair that Obsidian got through it more-or-less completely unscathed while Beamdog might get completely trashed, but life is always harder when you're smaller.

In my opinion, there are few things that made the outcry a lot different for two companies.

All this did was highlight their pettiness and political pandering (which infuriated many), showed their ethical standards when dealing with unhappy customers, put the poor aspects of their game to the forefront and actually brought a lot of negative opinion to the very things they were trying to promote. Considering that every site has horrible reviews from the players, this isn't a win... its a sinking ship with no lifeboats.

This is getting closer to the deadline of that space of time where people decide if a game is good or not. Apparently, Beamdog lost the fight. It would be safe to say SoD was a failure.
