Paladins where great in 2E. Probably the most popular class, at least in CRPG's. If you look into youtube lets playt videos of SSI and DreamForge games, almost everyone is playing as a Paladin.

I believe that is third party. But we should consider everything after TSR "death" as fanfic.

-------------------------------------------------

But a question. Did Larian fixed the terrible UI at least? Larian keeps saying that "spell slots aren't intuitive" but even a children's game called Pokemon has uses/rest for moves.

The interface of Ravenloft : Stone prophet for spell preparation for a end game 13th level magic user at end game.

I can memorize 10 tier 3 spells due my gear. And only 2 tier 6 spells.

Uh oh, looks like Sven and BG3 development may have been impacted (no pun intended)

Darklands Festival - Antwerp - Homosexual fetishists contract Monkeypox -> https://darklands.be/monkeypox/

^ To add insult to injury, these bastards have forever tainted (again, no pun intended) the Darklands IP.

Well thank God it requires sex with others. Who knows how much of the Codex could've been laid low.

This too was my greatest fear, an event called the Darklands Festival, some poor Codexer could have gone there expecting Darklands... Instead he gets Deliverance - I guess that would be the Codex way, at least if the rape was tastefully done... Oddly enough, with how Sven and those other devs at Larian dress up for their panels from hell, I would imagine they would fit right in at such a festival.

So this thing is supposed to release in less than a year, right?
At this point I assume they won't even be able to have an early access release with all the remaining classes. I can understand if they want to save some of them for the full release, but considering how they previously have stressed the importance of properly adapting 5e mechanics to a video game format you would assume they wanted to get them out as early as possible.
We'll probably see one more content patch before the game's launch, but I doubt that's going to have everything that will be present in the launch version's first act of the game.

It should at least have the day & night cycles as that has been a feature Larian has mentioned a few times since day 1 of BG's development and in fact, was originally a planned feature for Original Sin 1 but the budget they had for that kickstarter title wasn't quite enough for them to get all the features they wanted. The great thing about BG3 though is they have a much larger budget this time around so they've been able to work in these key elements that make an RPG, especially Baldur's Gate as we had day & night cycles in the old games in the 90's that really lended itself to the atmosphere. Fast forward to 2022 (approx 25 years later) and games have come really far. Not only can we expect the cycles, but probably things like dynamic weather which changes the pace and conditions of combat, as well as seasons which can greatly impact your playstyle. All of these things culminate together to create a fantastic modern 2022 computer RPG.

I'll be here laughing when the game finally releases and the quality falls off a cliff after Act 1.
Overweight middle-aged man laughing in front of his two monitors, in an RGB-lit room with D&D posters and a single bed he has been using since his teens, while not a single human being bothers to think about him in the first place anyway, sounds as pathetic as 16,000 internet posts in a span of less than five years. What is this, Twitter? Please provide your pronouns next time you make a post.

Probably in end of next year.

Larian is too slow to produce things. We will probably see the next OwlCat game before BG3 full release.

Because RPG's are in decline. Probably RP are the unique game genre which declined so much. I can play relative modern games in other genres, like BF1, Warthunder, FC, Forza, GTA(...) but modern RPG's are sooooo boring, if wasn't by old 90s/early 00s RPGs and few modern ones like KoTC2, UR and PFKM, I would't be playing RPGs. Completely disconnected mechanics, awful nonsensical design, boring quests, handholding(...)

is that red thing party member? she's ugly.

You are not allowed to have beautiful woman in modern games.

Not only this confirms Bard, but hopefully it means they finally retooled the reaction system. I just have no idea as to how Bardic Inspiration can possibly work with the current system in place.

The Paladin of Slaughter was so much not fanbrew that it's even part of the SRD. It was published in Unearthed Arcana, alongside the Paladin of Freedom and the Paladin of Tyranny (and the rule that classifies being trans as a mental disorder and clearly states that trans people are unpleasant).

I will never miss a chance to reiterate this.

Can I get the source on this specific tidbit? I think I've forgotten about that.
On page 194, the handbook introduces the sanity variant system to play dark horror campaigns. After talking a bit about "the loss of sanity" and "getting used to awfulness", the chapter starts introducing and classifying various types of insanity and mental disorders.

On page 208, there is this marvelous piece of game design:

D&D :

2E = gender bending items are cursed.
3.xE = transgenderism is a mental illness
5E = pronouns in character sheets

Imagine the butthurt if we had races like muls and different stats based in gender like d&d had mich time ago...

Datamining did show some promise when it comes to BG3 booba, but we'll see if these make it into the final game.
