Because it's been in beta for 2 years I'm guessing? Big AAA games like this though taking 4-5 years are the norm now.

Im not sure why people are suggesting this game is dead, Larian has said they releasing it next year. There should be no confusion about it " being dead " ?

It is dead till someone makes an 3.5E or at least 3.5E spell mod for this game. Is like NWN2, is unplayable without spell fixes mod.

Are they though? I am not very much familiar with their representation in the 5E, but my understanding so far was that they have somewhat departed from that “Paragon of virtues” formula, and I like it!
Thinking organically, they must be fixing the issues they experienced after the testing they had in August. They did have those NDA-ridden tests back then. I would think it takes 1 month to implement any changes, and another month to make sure they're bug free.
Just pointing out that this thread eventually has a moment where some people call this game dead, only to then see a major update.
