I agree but it doesn't shock me, i can live with it for mechanism sake, in most games, archers are underwhelming but they can be quite deadly in DOS2 so if they add a better range, they would just be overpowered.

Better range IMO is just "not the same range of a NERF toy gun" and again. Everything that the PC can use, an NPC can use, so it will not trivialize the game. Archers are a disappointment in 99%+ of games, including DOS2. First. Why they are often small, skinny weaklings? An Mary Rose Warbow or an mongol bow require an insane amount of strength. And crossbows, as you can see, here an guy managed to hit an target at 680 yards. Note that even on D&D, this would't be possible at level 20, since the long range is 400 ft + 40 ft / level....

.

And again you try to promote the LIE that archery has anything to do with a long range of 400+40/lvl ft in DnD. It doesn't.

I have already demonstrated a bare basic composite longbow and a level 1 human warrior with 16 Dex can hit a target at 900ft on a 6+ roll in another thread to counter your lie, and instead of answering that, you ran away and try it again here.

Your hatred of a game system is so strong that it is sad. Show me on the doll where DnD touched you, kid.

What part of : I WAS TALING about SPELL RANGES when i mentioned 400+40/lv you din't understood???? What i need to do in order to you understand that?????

What part of "i was talking about spells" with this 400+40/lv you din't understood???? I din't mentioned exactly the rules for bows, only that their range is bigger than the nerf toy range of 13m of DOS2 games... Spells with long description has Long (400 ft. + 40 ft./level) range http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/fireball.htm

And here is a sniper Eldricht Blaster on 5e > https://www.reddit.com/r/DnD/comments/5urz4a/5e_viability_of_an_eldritch_sniper_w_12k_ft_range/

"Using the 5th edition rules, a multi-classed Warlock 2 Sorcerer 3 that also uses the Spell Sniper feat, could potentially cast Eldritch Blast (using Eldritch Spear - 300ft, SS feat - doubled, and Distant Spell Metamagic - doubled again) at a range of 1,200 feet.

You were talking about bows, not spells. Allow me to quote:

Magic was never mentioned. Just a rant about how unrealistic archery is in DnD, which is the exact same premise you made in that other thread.

Assuming 20 DEX is the most dexterous human in the world, an Wild Hunt Archer with 28 DEX and +5 icy burst seeking composite longbow should be able to hit you at very far away.
:deathclaw:
Why should we assume that??? It is a very specific number from a specific iteration of a specific boardgame. Many games out there don't use it or/and have different meaning behind the stat. If you want a realistic depiction of archery go and play kingdom come deliverance,it has the most realistic shooting in any game ever made! Also giving fucking dragon's dogma as example.....lol you must have low experience with rpgs. If you gave Gothic 3 as an example as archery,i would get it since it have great archery and you are able to hit enemies from far distance and you have to learn the bow's parabola. Oh and dex being archery have nothing to do with real life archery,in reality you need high perception and strength to shoot a fucking bow.

its not actually that faster if you account for the accumulation of knowledge needed to make constructive and useful criticism.

'Useful' is the operative word. It's easy to make criticisms that are arbitrary, spurious, and wrong, and those take two seconds and potentially zero knowledge.

And if you suck at creation, it becomes obvious to you that such is the case right away, while if you suck at criticism (which can consist of nothing more than single conjecture) then likely you will never become aware of your own ineptitude, because there's no way to really rub your nose in it.

Not on D&D, on Larian's games. I assumed that their range is the same as long range spells despite never had played with one of then on pnp,, only played pnp two times and used arcane caster in both times., sorry. My fault.

I disagree. Crossbows was extremely common in central europe during that time but doesn't exist in the game...

Gothic 3 archery is better than most modern games, i only mentioned DD because where you hit matters. Not only if you hit. The metal armor of an ginormous cyclops can fully negate your damage, but hitting in the unarmored area deals full damage. Landing on moving targets and arrow "arc" is better implemented on G3, but DD did right. Armor in most action games is 99,9$ of times -% damage reduction. Doesn't matter if is a rusty knife or an heavy warbow with bodkin arrows and doesn't matter if the arrow hit the unarmored part or in the heaviest armored part at 45º angle.

PS : I have 76 hours of Gothic 3 and yes, archery in G3 is amazing. Mainly the "special" arrows.

I just realised that BG3 will probably not allow modding since modding is not possible with a streaming service. And Google paid for the console exclusivity so they probably don't want their version to look even worse than it already is.

Yes, you are right...

One thing that pisses me out is, look to 90s how many D&D adaptations we got. And now we have SCL and SCL 2(BG3 according to Larian)

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Watch this become the Skyrim mod porn tentacle Illithid game everyone (you didn't know had a fetish) has been waiting for; and sell more than the Elder Scrolls.

It's still decline if it has tentacles and tits. When it's supposed to be BG3 anyway. Fucking perverts: is nothing sacred?.

90s mechanic should stay in the 90s

Yes, we should get an amazing rpg with cooldowns, with retarded itemization where armor works more like your char's DNA determining muscle mass/iq instead of offering protection and deleting blows, where you never miss, but can only hit enemies at 13m with an longbow and needs to impale the enemy 40x in the head to kill the enemy... Then we can add RMAH and ""surprise mechanics" to BG3, where 99% of time you will get emoticons and, an battle royalle mode, modern mechanics are all amazing

I've seen you make this complaint multiple times now.
The armor is enchanted. Permanence dates back to OD&D(see Greyhawk supplement)
