I dunno why videogames just seem so disappointing, these days. I just can't look at the visuals of BG3 and get excited like I might at seeing the beautiful backdrops of BG2, for example.

What I saw from the demonstration looked pretty similar to the Solasta demo, actually, just flashier and with a lot more interactivity and contextual actions like push, jump et cetera.

Solasta had a completely different look and feel than the combat demo for BG3, and you comparing the two is indicative of your lack of ability to critically analyze anything.

What I think the edgier parts of the Codex are finding it hard to come to terms with is that this is what turn-based RPGs look like when they're commercially succcessful.

Also fear that this game could be better and more popular than their beloved childhood classic.

Why would they change it so much. I was expecting something with soul. I was expecting 3.5 like NWN1.

The 5th edition is an amazing one. It is certainly simpler than 3.5, but that's hardly a bad thing (and I am saying this as the biggest 3.5 fan on the planet, I love that game and I still play it weekly with two groups).
