What I saw from the demonstration looked pretty similar to the Solasta demo, actually, just flashier and with a lot more interactivity and contextual actions like push, jump et cetera.

Think I finally realize the uneasy feeling I had watching this gameplay reveal: that they are going HARD on D&D 5E rules and class balance.

When Swen was in character creation and scrolled down the classes and I saw barebone Fighter features a little thread of hope I had inside me was severed, compared to how much fun I had with Warfare skills in DOS:2.

I want to play as a heavily armored motherfucker (so far the game doesnt even have Half-Orcs!) and feel badass/threatening on the battlefield, and so far it doesnt look like BG3 is gonna give this to me

What I think the edgier parts of the Codex are finding it hard to come to terms with is that this is what turn-based RPGs look like when they're commercially succcessful.

Don't you see? This is it. This is what you wanted BioWare to be. This is what BioWare could have become if they'd decided to make RPGs that are "turn-based with lots of C&C!" just like the Codex always said it wanted them to. The Biodocs are looking at Swen Vincke right now and saying, "In another timeline, that could have been us."

And that's why it's so appropriate that this is Baldur's Gate III, as different as it is from the original games.

i don't get it why people complain about the dialogue as both originals had abysmal writing and plot. They're great only because of the combat and exploration and it seems that BG3 might deliver on that front.
But, but... you get to romance a drow, that's good writing, right?

Imagine working at bioware right now
Everything you've put out for years has been shit, your company is tanking, Anthem was one of the biggest failures in video game history
and then some plucky company that just kept at it for years swoops in and steals the one thing your company was known for, and it looks fucking fantastic, way better than your company could have possibly ever done

What picture are you waiting for, shitbrain?
Your disgusting, dilapidated face and body. I thought it was obvious, but you're senile old brain must not be capable of understanding. You talk a lot of shit, but I guaran-fucking-tee you're incapable of backing up any of it. What are the chances that you're some three hundred pound neckbeard, living alone in a shitty apartment, shitposting on the internet with cheeto and cum stains all over your wife beater. I'm betting pretty high.
You're irrelevant. You are a fucking teenager. That alone means that anything you say is retarded and useless. Your taste in anything is shit for that alone. You're as interesting as a retard screeching and flapping his arms around. You are literal space filler. But they worst part is you're way, way dumber than the average teenager. A cautionary tale if I've ever seen one
Much wow. Young people are so dumb. You sure got me good.
LMAO. "i'm so much better than you at everything". "ItsChon" is the level of intelligence you have to be to think that wins an internet argument.
Internet argument? Haha, right. Because you calling shit retarded and sperging out is an argument. Note how you didn't deny it? You know I'm better than you at life, and it must eat you alive. Don't @ me faggot, every time I respond to you I feel like you get that much closer to killing yourself, and I don't want that on my conscience.

Wondering how they got a chance that's not a multiple of 5% in that pic. Maybe it's a result of advantage (I don't know the math for that off hand).
It's definitely a result of advantage/disadvantage. You can read (almost) everything you need about the math here.

You people are self-sabotaging, joyless catastrophizers. This is the first AAA turn-based D&D RPG ever, and taking into consideration the AAA part this is absolutely surreal and almost tailor-made for Codex tastes. Yes, the visuals can be a bit ...too much, but the combat and verticality, the sozzy-ness of being able to talk to people with all of your companions while your main is skulking around, the faithful adaptation of D&D 5E, the amount of physical feats you can do in combat (jump, dash, push, pull, shove, I think I saw grapple there as well), the itemisation not being random, etc. etc. are all pure incline and almost hard to believe is actually happening. Not to mention we are also getting a bunch of other RPGs, like the new Pathfinder, Realms Beyond, Solasta, Colony Ship, and so on. This is fantastic, we should be overjoyed.
Can we please delete the entire thread and just leave this post? This is honestly the only thing that there is to say on this topic.

So when Fallout changes subgenres it is heresy, but when BG does it is incline?!
