You know you will initially be :bounce: , and then you will be :deadhorse: when Larian fails to deliver.

It says 2019 Wizards of the Coast. All rights reserved.

Okay, then it would make a bit more sense. Still weird, after establishing Rivellon finally as its own thing. Oh well, whatever pays the bills. And it will be good or at least try to be awesome.

I've repeatedly expressed my skepticism towards Owlcatfags on the 'Dex but the Ruskies would still do a better job with the BG franchise than Larian ever could.
No, the good parts of kingmaker were in the books, the encounters aren't as good as BG2 one still 20 years later , AC bloat is absurd and the last part of the game, the part they really did themselves from scratch is awful. Larian is a lot more professional and their games were playable from start to the end with no noticeable bugs .Owlcat could do better maybe with a real budget and time , right now it doesn't.

At least the game is polished, runs well, is stable, and there are no bugs.

Unless its a fully turn based Co-Op DnD simulator to make Pierre Begue weep for wasting the last 15 years of his life when he could have been making Battle of the Sands II I'm not interested.

I think a storyfag game would be a big mistake for larian actually.

You mean after some months of bug fixing. D:OS2 was in much better condition on release

Laidlaw joined Ubisoft I think, no? might be great to see Gaider work on BG3 if related since people praised him for Ascension.

Larian is a passionate studio, who make great games. I was a big fan of Divine Divnity, and still consider it their best game the ONLY worthy heir to Ultima.

The DOS games ( I have played the first part) were great, especially the turnbased combat. Unfortunately, the writing was terrible; so terrible in fact it prevented me from finishing the game despite my love for the TB system.

BG series are games that do depend on good writing, especially BG II, the best one; unfortunately I don't see Larian being able to pull it off and would thus ruin the experience. Especially if they put their horrible, immersion breaking 'jokes' in there coupled with their terrible writing.

Ideally I would like a game with a TB battle system like DOS, powered by the D&D 5e or PF I rules engine (though WOTC will never let them go with Pathfinder for BG) and ALL the writing and quests done by the original BG team, led by David Gaider or someone equally as passionate and competent in that arena. Avellone had nothing to do with the BG series so while I wouldn't be against his involvement, I do believe he is not needed at all for this.
