Really dont recommend people playing Dark Urge as a first one. You will end up loosing a lot of content and interactions because the motherfucker will kill npc's without any chance to avoid it by the player character.

Going to reroll as a custom character, and play dark urge in a second playthrough.
Damn, guess I'll have to restart once again :negative: wish there was at least a way to export and import characters, it sucks creating a new thing five times in a row.

Does this have quest compass/objective markers and abilities on cooldown timers to go with the massive minimap?
It's an alright game, agris. Try it out for ~10 hours.
Are quests written such that you can turn off markers and still have enough info from dialogue / journal to navigate them and find the right people/places/things?

Can it be circumvented by having companions talk, or is it just unavoidable?

I'll leave this here... Saw this one video of this guy back in 2021 and it still baffles me beyond belief some people can take him seriously.

Some absolute gem of opinions of his from the video:

- Outer worlds is a great game and better than any BG because... "BG old, OW new".
- BG1 is better than BG2.
- Games are shit if they have no VO.
- Ranks some retarded shark game before RPGs and considers said game to be an RPG.
- Icewind Dale is not that great because it has no story.
- Dragon Age 2, likes it
- All the above he played in that one year and out of all of them, he ranks D:OS 2 as the top game of that year.

Yeah... clearly a case in point of another great YT reviewer worth putting even a fraction of trust in.
Mortismal is clearly a storyfag and (selfadmitted) edgelord. It's why he can tolerate Dragon Age 2 and he spent half of his 19 minute "BG3 Paladin class video" whining about being unable to start as an "evil/fallen" Paladin.
How can you be a storyfag and tolerate Dragon Age 2? I mean it makes you just a fag, not storyfag.
He isn't. Even more than many other reviewers he will suck the dick of every game, regardless of quality. Occasionally there is some mild criticism baked into the review somewhere but it's layered under so much corporate shill speak it's barely noticeable.

His gimmick of 100% games is meaningless because he refuses to critique them.

There are no markers floating on your screen. If you open the full map, then there are quest markers. I guess it functions the same as in D:OS/2

And to your question, I've been able to find NPCs just with other NPCs' directions. The maps aren't that difficult to navigate. It's the Larian corridors, i.e. obstacles, some of which climbable, with the paths circumventing them. I don't remember NPCs giving specific directions like "go left at the intersection" like in Underrail, but such directions aren't really needed.

No, you're just a cuck and a retard.
I'm torn between compassion for this troubled teen and the laughs that result from poking him for more material.

The only person worth laughing at in this post is you, Mr. Awesome Button. Your ironic humor is rookie tier, and I'm not 100% convinced it's meant to be ironic.

Actually, it's time to play NOW.

After I installed new nVidia drivers. After the download stopped 3 times for some reason.

Says it only gets better after the early access region, unlike DOS2.

Did he play the EA? I imagine a lot of these early reviewers will be in love with new areas, regardless of the actual quality, simply because they've spent 3 years replaying 1st act :M

Theres a bard in the Druid grove that you can recruit to your camp, if you play as the dark urge you will murder her without anyway to stop it from happening. I imagine there will many more situations like that throughout the game.

A short opinion after a few hours of playing:
Presentation is great.
Gameplay is so-so, AI seems very stupid
UI is a mess
Runs well enough for me
Dialogues range from "whatever" to "cringe"

I've already explained this a couple of times, but I'll do it again.

I was shitting on the game before the EA came out, not like you though, just for the fun of it.

Then I won a lottery by wishing Merry Christmas to Kruno, and Dark Underlord gifted me the game. It was his choice. Hence "proud" owner.

So the tag I set to myself is self-irony.

Companions suck. At least first few of them are fucking terrible. Getting rid of them is not that easy, especially if the only logical outcome(Dark Urge) should be potential companion death and my options end up on on being mean.
Lae'zel is the only one who is interesting imo because she's Gith and thus has the most to talk about regarding the Mindflayers - pairs well with MQ. All the rest are either boring or so annoying they need to be executed.

OG games had better companions across the board and a bigger roster. Leagues better in that regard.

Thanks. To be clear, I’m not worried about maps being difficult to navigate, rather that quests were never designed to be played without markers. Think FNV without the quest compass, the quests weren’t designed to be completed that way as a lot of time not enough info is given.

Sounds like that isn’t the case here. Can quest markers on the map be disabled?

Holy sweet Jesus, give me strength. The camera is worse than Neverwinter Nights 2. I swear. Feels like I'm fighting it at every turn. And as I said earlier, the controls make for a mega-unimmersive experience. A controller is a no-go since the UI gets magnified by 10 by just having it plugged in.

In general, I'm not too impressed. Yes, the whole thing gets dragged down by the annoyingly designed character controls and camera. But I don't like how you are just dropped into this world. I know none of these people. Why should I care about anything that is going on here in this backwater forest? Druids doing weird druids things, okay? Why am I not on the road to Baldur's Gate yet already? It feels like I'm just meandering around, killing a goblin there, talking to a demon person here.

Also, having everyone act like there are the most experienced ever in their field of "expertise" while they are level 1. Yeah okay. Just too much that breaks the experience so far for me.
But a game like this only comes about once in a generation! Even if you don't like this kind of game, you should buy it anyway to support it. Buy it twice, even. Larian are the developer that CDPR fronted they were. They have Pedigree to back them up. BG3 is undoubtedly the game of the decade! It's going to change the genre forever!

I can imagine the thousands of normies who are playing BG3 right now after hearing all that buzz marketing while they now scratch their heads at all the prententious shit the game throws at them. Yet they will tell themselves the game is only going over their heads because the game is just so grandiose. They have no other choice. They couldn't think for themselves, and now they bought this trash at full price. So they'll lie through their teeth, even to themselves, to avoid extreme butthurt buyers remorse.
Sounds just like two other games released recently: Diablo 4 and Jagged Alliance 3.

Isn't Shar evil?
They trying to rehabilitate villany here?
Shar is like the villainous mom of evil. She claims she loves you, gives you hugs, and then undermines your self worth so badly you are fucked up for life.

But seeming cute welcoming, and caring at first is totally her jam.

Interested to see how they wrote this one.
