Nimble is so much a game changer when you fight unholds.
Seriously - zero injuries.

So another feather for my mace-fandom cap: I just injured an unhold with it. Sooo rewarding after all those early game broken bones. And it was my startin two hander bro who has had his fair share of unhold injuries.

There's still the annoying bug (?), where tavern rumors talk about 'Raider Camps', when the unique is actually in an undead lair.

The 'Weapon' was supposed to be in a 'Raider Camp', 'Hidden in the Forest' to the 'North-West' of 'Donnerfeste'.

I combed every forest north-west of Donnerfeste up to Birkhaven, not a single Raider Camp. So I finally attacked this Necromancer Hideout and there it was:

A Polehammer nobody uses. Great

At least it looks cool.

this is what i was afraid . while i still try to use every weapon type effectively seems like swords and axes and some polearms with ranged swapping bros are way to go... fuck

No, do not believe that. A team of dedicated specialists (with right man management) will always be head and shoulders above that of jacks of all trades guys. Ranged swappin just means you ve got a bro which excels at neither. Sure, you can still win fights but it cannot be compared to uber competent specialists knowing what they re doing.

I don't know what you're talking about. Polehammers, maces and flails are all great. That one unique in particular isn't actually much better than the regular version, though.

What is it that's good about the swords? I am around day 70-something, 4th/5th level company of 12. My front row is armed with kite shields, 3 carry spears, 1 flail, 1 mace and 1 two-handed wooden hammer. I keep a sword as a backup weapon on one of the spearmen.

I loved the base game and I love the DLC. Played only for a bit, lost 2 brothers to 5 alps around day 35 ( ? ) -I enjoyed the chase, dunno how it'll work later in the game though-, got my bones crushed by 2 unholds but got some nifty pelts that the taxidermist turned into bigger bolt bundles, I also enjoy smashing spiders, I must craft some reinforced nets for said unholds I believe. So far I've only found and used that heavy spear/hammer hybrid, it's actually pretty strong. I'm pumped up about this game again.
Anyone found any roaming wildmen bands? Do they exist?

GET FAST ADAPTATION ON YOUR ARCHERS

it's so good for those fights where you can win by taking out a high value target like a necromancer or shaman. just keep spamming quick shot to rack up those 8% accuracy stacks and hold your ground until it's dead.

edit:
is noble mail the best armor/fatigue ratio mid-tier armor in the game?

Yep, i can larp with it. 2h broRance is bright(no level cap) and short sighted - it explains company flag. SpearKanami stronk and quick. RangedIsoroku has eagle eyes and superstitious, just like her in Sengoku Rance.

the problem is late game. did you ever watched black monolith fight? seems like shields and 1H weapons are no good there

Gifted gives you flat +4 RA, you need really low base RA for it to be worse than FA, even for sniping one target.

Outside of uniques noble mail is the best psure.

Swords are great because they let you access enemy backline from your front, especially vs ancient dead (black monolith), since they spam shield block and you can just go over it for the squishier polearms.

I think 'Fast Adaptation' is more useful if you want to hit special targets - like Gobbo Shaman or Necro. You know, you'll have to get those enemies soon and since they're mostly surrounded by comrades that are hard to hit too (Fallen Heroes with shields or Gobbo Snipers) the bonus doesn't reset easily.

Also: why not both? Never been a huge fan of 'Crippling Strikes', 'Executioner' or 'Headhunter', so you can fit 'Gifted' in an Archer Build.

Is losing a merc in battle a better outcome moralewise than dismissing a mule beggar without severance (200 coin for 20 days of doin nothing!)? Asking for a friend.

Unhold attach looks too sexy. Makes you look like a medieval pimp.

I guess you mean two handed swords, but I'm asking about one-handed.

I'm no expert, but it seems like once you have the fatigue, melee skill and armour to wield them without losing bros every other fight, two-handers are king. One-handed swords just don't have the damage to keep up. Before that point, though, the ThC bonus and passive skill make them a good all-rounder.

I just captured my first two handed sword from some brigand leader. I'll try it out soon and see if it's so great. I've been looking to have the means to switch to weapons which preserve armor better when fighting against humans. At least humans whose armor I would like to steal.
