Kuattro hexadecimals contain only ABCDEF from characters. I'm pretty sure if you use different combinations of these along with numbers you will always get different results

That's probably it then, if the seed contains a character that's not one of those, it doesn't recognize it (so "RPGCodex" gives no seed at all) or doesn't recognize anything after that (so "Flinston" gives "f"), and just gives you some kind of default map.

thats my problem... noone has footwork and only 2h axeman had rotation. one dead and one with maimed foot

Man, I don't understand the damage sometimes in this game even after over 100 hour gameplay. At times my men feel like towering tanks, taking hit after hit, laughing in the face of death. Then a random goblin rider arrives and two-shots my dudes. Wtf?

Goblins have a sword/dagger hybrid, which has a skill that ignores all armor and goes directly to your hp pool. I've gotten in several close encounters with ambushers that almost twoshot my tankiest dudes when they get lucky and actually hit with their melee weapon.

Puncture.
Daggers have this puncture attack that ignores armor at the cost of -15% hit chance. Goblins love to use that.

Is those pointy things the goblin riders have swords? Thought they were spears. I haven't actually fought the goblins much since I just can't stand them. Kinda forced now though since it's a war and all. Ambushers make me cry, especially in combination with orcs.

Okay, damn. I got orc-fatigue already. Young orcs are okay, but those heavy warriors. Ugh. And the goblins. Now when I think about it, I think I will retire and move down south. Seem safer down there.

Warriors aren't that hard though, so long as you have enough armor and 2h weapons (hammers, axes... swords kind of meh... billhooks in backline work ok even in release build). Def. helps to have the -50% dmg resist and stun resist for 2 rds perk though.
Getting overwhelmed by massed warriors on the other hand can be kind of bad...

Personally I still avoid leveling HP unless it's below 50. It feels like giant waste compared to leveling melee defense.

Personally I still avoid leveling HP unless it's below 50. It feels like giant waste compared to leveling melee defense.

Defense is pure RNG though, and enemies can negate it in various ways, esp later in the game.

Let me put it this way: HP damage of weapons is fixed in a certain range, and armor-ignoring weapons do very little of it. HP also influences injury mechanics. With X HP you can take a certain range of hits past your armor from various sources, or compensate for the lack of hp dmg reduction from low/damaged armor somewhat. You can basically take a certain amount, possibly every battle, and always heal up in-between. Not perfect, but it helps you compensate for the RNG somewhat. Also less injuries if you do get hit a bunch (and you will at some point).
Low HP relying on defense (unless you have HUUUGE defense skills, keep in mind also ranged attacks if you're only levelling melee defense) in ironman is really risky, way too easy to one or two shot you if things don't go in your favor RNG-wise or you're caught in a net or something.

IMO it all comes down to the RNG then, and now with the amount of marksmen/arbalesters you can meet? That's just kind of pushing it imo. Early on with weak armor and low defense your guy will also be super squishy.

Anything below 60 (and 65~70 is prefered) and you ask for trouble in my opinion. Not levelling HP was the way to go long time ago in the ea before they introduced damage that ignores armor % on weapons and enemies using puncture. Not to mention wounds that are less likely to happen the higher your hp is. Note that HP has a 2~4 stat progression so you can spend only 2~3 points on it and have 60+ on almost anyone unless you really insist on having the cripple with weak bones as a bro... Those 2~3 points for bros that needs it will save you a lot of headaches. And if you really don't want to do it at a cost of defense there are other options... Colossus perk... skip some level ups worth only 2 points on resolve and/or fatigue when they come at the same time as 4 points in hp...

All my frontliners have 80 hp minimum (with the colossus perk). It's a big help against those crossbows and punctures, even against orc weapons.

Wow. Sure the game has some obscure-ish rules and all, but come on. The basics are really easy to find out, and overlooking the party formation in the inventory/dude-management screen? How does that even happen?

Score of 84 though, so there's that. Basically a 15 on the usual 8-10 scale if they were honest... Considering what normally gets the better scores :D

Hey! When I started out this game it took until the 4th band of bros (the first two miserably died against Hoggart, the third one on day 17 thought: "Hey 7 orc youngs, I'm sure this will be alright!) to figure this out :negative:
