POLL: Child killing in the game YES OR NO?, To end the discussion about this ethic subject once and for all

I loved killing those bastards in Den. Once they stole Vic's radio and I had to restart the game. After that I always worry when walking through them. When playing evil the first thing I do is kill those little shits.

BTW, if you kill children in FO 2 posters will appear informing everyone that you're wanted for the child killing and there's a reward. Question: does anyone actually come to get you?

After you kill a certain number (2 or 3 IIRC), yes, you'll start getting bounty hunter encounters. You can easily die to them at low levels, too, so be careful.

The best way to deal with the kids in my experience is to punch them in the leg once and end combat. There's no karma penalty (unless you get a lucky critical and they die), and they run away every time the see you so no stealing.

Um no, I won't start exploiting the system. I'm going to kill those children, get the consequences and love it, damn it. The last time I killed those thugs in Redding for the sheriff I got encounters from his brothers every time I entered the world map. I couldn't handle them and what did I do? I appreciated the C&C, damn you!

Whoever has a account better get his ass in this topic, after the 3 page the discussion really picks up. The Mods are fighting a tough battle and it seems there will be no banning.

Gotta agree that censoring that site's name -- it's not like codex or RPG are dirty words -- is a stupid move.
And of course the topic has been locked by princess_stomper.
You know what?

I think I'm just going to go along and lock this thread. Maybe some of you found the earlier discussions useful, but now it's just descended into so much rule-breaking to clean up, including the much-forbidden criticising people on other sites/forums who aren't necessarily here to defend themselves, and outright flaming and vulgarity.

And that's just the posts that didn't get deleted.
Fuck and I still wanted to post this.

Fear the might of the Bethstapo.

Heh, I made a post in this thread saying:

When will we get to see NMA's second preview?

You don't have to answer that by the way. We already know the answer.

And now it is deleted. Lol, and the moderators have the gall to say that they aren't biased.

And then I saw this: http://www.bethsoft.com/bgsforums/index ... 5665&st=20

True, but the success of console ports are also the cause of a lot of good.

Many companies would be bankrupt by now if they had to rely solely on the sales on PC, since that's where software piracy is at its worst. So the artists actually get the cash they deserve thanks to consoles, more than they would otherwise at least. Second, it pays not to forget some obvious contributions console games have made to the PC RPG genre. For one, purely PC RPG's have always been very rare. It wasn't until the same RPG's were being made for both PC and consoles that we started to get a lot more quality games. In addition to that, the traditional PC RPG's where always made with low-budget and sub-par graphics & soundtrack. Console exports greatly upped the bar on those. And for my part, I can also say that I never liked the old-school "non-linear, no scripted events and no NPC relationships" style. Even Fallout was too much there. Compared to how deeply developed the characters in games such as Final Fantasy VII, Chrono Trigger, Xenogears etc were and their extremely involving plots with multiple twists, the PC RPG's certainly had a lot of room for improvement.

Consider the relatively recent games such as BG2 (which was heavily influenced by the aforementioned features normally found in console ports, while also retaining the typical PC non-linearity), KOTOR 1 & 2 and Jade Empire for example... they are real masterpieces, and precisely *because* they were made neither PC's nor consoles, but for both.

Sure, console games tend to be dumbed down from their PC variants, but it's definitely not all bad. In the best cases, the games can manage to get the best parts of both sides.. and that really amounts to something spectacular.

"One more comment, even though this is locked, and I know people will continue to believe what they want to believe regardless of what anyone says.

Read the rules and the tos of these forums, the rules written for age 13+ forum members. Now look at those forums, and see if they still allow uncensored language, they still have forum titles they give posters for whatever reason that would be an autocensor bypass here, the links to the shockporn that still shows up cause some people believe its a legitimate response to someone's post, inappropriate discussion topics, and links to material that isn't allowed on these forums.

Some links end up edited on a case by case basis, such as youtube links that have inappropriate language. When one of the forum titles is Dumb[censored], what would be the point of deleting individual links?"

I sure hope Todd Howard is banned from the Bethboards for his "Violence is fucking funny!" comment, that foul-mouthed ne'er-do-well.

Oh yeah, because JRPGs are clearly the same thing as western CRPGs. Final Fantasy had such a large influence on our modern PC RPGs, Oblivion is almost a Final Fantasy clone!
*sigh*

You're forgetting that faithfull criticism of Beth's games are among ''illegal content'' too. I haven't visited DAC for a long time now, but as far as i remember, it is more like a 'place of many lulz' with mild Fallout relation than anything else.

It's funny because when you click on the DAC link on the Bethesda forums it sends you here. It also suprised me that they allow DAC and not the Codex. The Codex is child's play compared to some of the shenanigans that go on at DAC.

They didn't have mandatory registration to view forums before. Decline of DAC?
