More like video games I still can't afford because it's like $600+ worth of macrotransactions to get the full, intended and complete experiences.

Tbh a game like Deus Ex can only come out once every 100 years, when the stars perfectly align. And they did align. The cultural zeigeist was right, the technology was right, internet was still in its infancy, there were no dangerhairs to cancel you for telling the truth because there was no social media, it came out just before consoles took over, it was the end of an amazing run of innovations started by Ultima Underworld, then perfected by Thief and System Shock etc. etc. I like to think of Deus Ex as the last relic of pre-clown world that we live in today. A game like that will never appear again, that's a guarantee.

It's still amazing how Deus Ex managed to put together almost every major conspiracy theory (some of which have proven to be true in the modern day) and make them work.

Post the link you coward.

Two things of note. The description reads:

Suitable for single filers without dependents.

They're the target audience, after all. But there's also:

Notice: Tax Heaven 3000 is no longer available on the Steam store.

Gaben you coward.

:argh::argh::argh:

Thankfully you can still direct download the game here:
https://taxheaven3000.com/

They will also launch it on itch.io.

Probably afraid that they might be legally liable for something. I don't see how that would actually happen but I can also see how it's not worth the hassle for a game that will rake in like $20,000 or something when Valve makes billions every year.

I guess people will feel it's "the real thing". As I type this I remembered Papers Please, but I guess that game was "fictional" enough to be acceptable.

Why did they remove it, though? Were people sharing their actual info in the game?
Nope, the game hadn't even released yet. Probably people mass reported the game as fraud or as a scam and valve just decided they didnt want to deal with the controversy and just delisted the game. Its possible the IRS could consider this as Valve seeling or advertising some kind of tax assistance tool and some slimy lawyer told them to just give it the boot to avoid potential lawsuits and any kind of liability.

I just read that the game apparently asked for your SSN...

Lmao I was taught as far back as Runescape to never enter your personal details like your SSN or password into the game. I guess people will fall for it if it's a cute girl doing it.

Pretty sure it's this one.
