I'd already be happy if it's better than Skyrim.
Which wouldn't be much of an endorsement.

No, it wouldn't. Actually I'd even take just like Skyrim in the Fallout universe. I don't have high expectations but at least chances for disappointment are low.

What's the catch in that?
What?

Just 'cause:

funny-day-month-year-date-America.jpg

That only refers to some tumblr that got people all crazy on reddit trying to decipher "what it all means". The countdown website is probably legit. Probably.

Decent trolling nonetheless. :4/5:

Yeah, managed to leave me doubtful for a while.

But I still think that the site is legit, but who knows. It's just a month away anyways, for a Bethesda game, in the end. I don't care that much either way.

Eastern Asia (which makes a very large portion of the world's population) actually uses (year)/month/day (Japan also calls the sport with the white and black ball "サッカー"). They also label it so you can't possibly be confused (2013年11月19日)

Year-Month-Day Hour:Minute:Second is the ISO approved way of handling dates internationally. It's predictable in the sense that it always goes from a larger unit to a smaller one.

FO 4: rape harder.

I wonder if they'll use the totally-not-gamebryo engine from Skyrim.

Beth will only use what is attested, approved and profitable, no reason for them to do it the other way round. Post nuclear skyrim is whats going to happen, rape_train never stops.

I found new vegas interesting more for that one mod that let's you be a bounty hunter than the actual content which felt kind of meh on the whole. That said, the ratio of appallingly stupid crap to decent content is way better in Obsidian's Fallout than Bethesda's.
Do you mean "New Vegas Bounties"? I found that to be incredibly banal; just follow the quest marker to the target out in the middle of nowhere, shoot him with your biggest sniper rifle, and return to cash in the bounty - over and over again.

Which really says something about how boring I found the main game doesn't it? ;)

I think I had a few mods that made it more interesting too, but whatever.

edit: seriously, it's been years since I've played it so I don't remember much other than enjoying tooling around with that mod for the hour or so it lasted way more than the actual game. The game might not have sunk to Bethesda levels of cheese, but it still bored the piss out of me. Oh, new vegas. look there are hookers. how gritty and fallout-y. Wake me when it gets interesting.

edit: oh, and I liked that cesar guy and all the quests related to him - having the option to kill him (with heart medicine or something?) and his backstory were pretty cool imho. highlight of the game for me. or maybe just thing i remember enough to comment on...

FNV is good Fallout game made by people who made the real stuff on buggy piece of shite Bethpizdan Game Fagoyo engine. But it is best sandbox open world game with decent story, good writing and consistent setting on Market nevertheless. But it has so much Vanila and DLCs content you don't realy need mods to play it; which is in the Commissar's Eye a Compliment.

I'll bet you thought Fallout 2 was the best because it had New Reno and you could be a pornstar. New Vegas was booooring. I laughed a couple of times and it at least held true to some of the original concepts and writing, but the story bored me. The characters BORED me. The combat BO-oh, you get the idea. I thought the Cesar guy was somewhat interesting because I vaguely remember him being different than I expected, but that's it.

Seriously, maybe I'm forgetting some incredible part of the game. If I could speak on your level for a moment: Wut made it so gud, dickweeds?

-Only rpg ever to have 4 completely seperate factions to side with in a main quest.
-Guiness world record for most recorded lines.
-Large amount of character options, with great balance.
-Wealth of quests, and quest choices.
-Outstanding moments such as: Vault 11, psycho-analyzing that white glove society cook, throwing the ncr general off of the dam, no-bark, the companion quests, talking to fantastic at the powerplant, the Matthews' Animal Husbandry Farm story, etc.
-Some of the greatest DLC's, ever.

I don't care if there were 4 or 50. All of them felt like rejects from a saturday morning cartoon show. The game succeeded in making me care about absolutely no one by the end.

Ok? Doesn't matter if the actual dialog bored the shit out of me.
-Large amount of character options, with great balance.
Yeah, I don't remember if this is true or not. Usually not remembering a game is a sign that it was forgettable.
-Wealth of quests, and quest choices.
True. I remember quite a few quests and choices. I also remember 90% boring me and a shitton of fetch quests.

White glove society I remember, now that you said it. I also remember running into quite a few bugs trying to complete the quest, so I don't remember enjoying it too much. The rest of what you said felt meh.
Husbandry Farm story, etc.
Wat? Don't remember.

Closet Oblivion fan detected.

BSB on the whole to me with a few good points - yet still far and away better than the monstrosity that was Fallout 3. Then again, that's my opinion. I also happen to think you and Volrath are brainless, easily amused Obsidian fanboys, but I'm sure you'll disagree with me there too.

You know you know you love my Arcanum patches, Infiltron! Nah, I'm just mess'n with you.

edit: I also thought Alpha Protocol was a piece of shit. Made FO:NV look like a masterpiece. Liked every other game in the Codex pantheon tho'.

lampchop's right, New Vegas really wasn't that great.

It had good moments, especially in the DLCs, but it was bogged down by everything that made Fallout 3, well, Fallout 3; shit art, shit engine, shit gameplay mods can never fix, tonnes of crashes, bugs and other issues that aren't the fault of the actual assets, etc.
And there were other factors at work too, such as the short development time and how Obsidian for all intents and purposes focused far too much on quantity over quality, or rather if you would, lacked the time to refine quantity into quality.

I kind of like it for being an actual Fallout game, but a lot of it really is rather dry and underdeveloped.
It's a fantastic game considering the constraints Obsidian had to work with, but it could've been so much better.

I have to disagree, i think New Vegas is the best Fallout franchise game after Fallout 1, i loved the sandbox exploration feeling of the game and all the little details that were spread over the wasteland.

So stories are supposed to make you care? Allow me to redirect you to the bioware social network.

There they are again.

I never finished DS3, AP or KOTORII. So yes, I disagree.
