Ugh, I know it doesn't mean that much, but the fact that they already got the music wrong is just a sign of what is to come, IMO...

See, this is something like a two man gang, so if you fuck with Fallout, you fuck with VO. Just a warning, Beth. I have deadly kamikaze pigeons (dynamite-strapped) at my command. And while they have all yet failed to do any damage to your HQ, the day will come.

7 million dollars and the first people get to experience doesn't remind of Fallout at all? Fucking idiots. Why not go for some cheap points and sneak in a reference or two to the Fallouts of old?

Well, that was a whoot.

Anyway, we might not get actual gameplay footage or whatevah, but we might atleast get a take on the story more or less. Maybe some summary of the features of the game. You know? Where they fade out to list a feature and then fade in again to show some cinematic sequence, etc. whilst some hollywood style fucker says something along the lines off

OMG! WTF! TEH FALLOUT HAS RETURNED!! LOL!

Fuckers...

You mean that wasn't a track from Oblivion?

Oh don't you worry about that one. There's gonna be references alright. References to TES!! Yup. I can see it now.

You encountered... a Oblivion Gate!

You know that special encounter where you encountered this HUGE stone portal-shit-crap-time-traveling-piece-of-shit-thing? Yeah, that one. They're gonna replace it with OBLIVION GATES!

Oh, and what's that group of guys looking for the Holy Handgrenade or something rather. Forgot what they were called. Anyway, Bethesda is gonna replace them with THE KNIGHTS OF TEH NINE! who's looking for a dildo or something.

That's exactly what I was thinking.

Did these guys think at all about getting different music? Do these people not realize that not every game is fit for Jeremy Soule Generic Fantasy Soundrtrack #189?

I don't usually beat you guys at being negative, but fuck countdowns and teaser trailers. That in itself is awfullly Oblivion-Hypey. The music certainly doesn't indicate any artistic deviation from the Oblivion formula either.

Yeah, we sure got some intimate experience with that kind of hype, don't we? :(

This is... well... the picture is innocent enough, but the music doesn't fit at all. The music is clearly from the "epic" angle, and that is waaay off for Fallout. Shit, the music isn't even something they do themselves. If they can't even contract out a proper soundtrack they're clearly aiming to fuck everything up. Nothing will be spared.

Music sucks. And not just because it doesn't fit.

I like the art though, looks nice, although it doesn't exactly have that fallout vibe. And hey, they've got some trees in there...can you say speeeeedtreeee??!

The first thing that popped into my mind when I saw that page was the final scene from The Terminator.

Well, all evidence so far points to Oblivion with Guns.
Hard not to come to that conclusion. :(

If they truly were going to emulate Fallout 1/2's music, they certainly would do so in the very first peice of it unveiled to the world, one might think.

Nothing wrong with J.S. per se.

Except that every one of his soundtracks is generic and sounds the same. That's not too bad, I guess, but it doesn't fit Fallout. Isn't it troublesome that everybody here can instantly tell that it's a Jeremy Soule theme and his name isn't even on the page? You can tell it's Jeremy Soule after ten seconds!

I think the problem I have with the image is how it seems to focus on the wrong thing. Fallout clearly had its share of wastelands but they weren't much of the focus - what mattered was how the wasteland changed locations, beliefs, people. Looking at some deserted plains and mountains doesn't do much to remind of Fallout - the Elder Scrolls is what immediately comes to mind when looking at the image, actually.

The music becomes too pompous early on to ever get the right feeling.

Guess I'm just a sucker for "epic" fantasy soundtracks. You're right, though, that this one isn't particularly good, nor does it seem to fit the setting. Oh well, once the game is released the music will be the least of your worries. :D

What percentage of the concept art teasers will be traced from Brom stuff?

Neither the art or the music even whisper Fallout to me, unlike the Van Buren video I watched a few days ago. I really don't understand why they spent so much money on Fallout IP.

I was planning to start a thread with a crazy idea/dream I had, but I never got around to it because I wanted to write quite a bit, and I'm a slow-ass writer. Anyway, the idea was simply that BS have the FO ip and assets which presumably includes the VB code and art. They could make Fallout: Retarded FPS Edition (with some more sensible spin off name) and make buckets of cash with the blessing of the fanbase because they've agreed to then contract the right FO dev people to continue and finish VB into a real FO3 for the fans. (and possibly new fans of FO:RFE too)

Everyone wins!

Too much medication, right?
