Hey, Mr. Bethesda! Get Mark Morgan or Aphex Twin to do the job!

I think the problem I have with the image is how it seems to focus on the wrong thing. Fallout clearly had its share of wastelands but they weren't much of the focus - what mattered was how the wasteland changed locations, beliefs, people. Looking at some deserted plains and mountains doesn't do much to remind of Fallout - the Elder Scrolls is what immediately comes to mind when looking at the image, actually.
And we say the TES forums are retarded. It's obvious that the object of the general wastelanditude of the image is to convey the sense of staying true not only to the Fallout game, but to the original title which started it all - Wasteland; increasing in process the collargrabbity of Fallout 3 by another 2.8 MegaShephards.

Whoa, more than just douchebaggery, I just cant see the logic of that move for bethesda. What, they dont want people playing their older games or something? Its not like they make any money from arena and daggerfall. Maybe they are planning on releasing a TES boxset or something (Lol.)

Sweet jesus I just listened to the music, they turned it into fucking lord of the rings.

That's an insult to the Lord of the Rings. I'm not a big fan of how much they fucked up the story in the movies, but the music certainly was ace.

Yes well I wasn't criticising the music for LOTR, just that this kind of music is hardly Fallout-y as others have pointed out.

I can't believe the bullshit one of the mods wrote on the subject of the music:
Dogsbody said:
It remains to be seen whether it fits with the Fallout mood, but as capital-E Epic music goes, it's brilliant. I've been listening to it over and over, and the themes are coming clear. The first theme is an inversion of the Dies Irae in the trombones.

Dies irae, dies illa/Solvet saeclum in favilla, literally "The day of wrath, the day that/Will dissolve the world into burning coals" or more poetically
Wm. Irons said:
Day of wrath, O day of mourning!
See fulfilled the prophet's warning,
Heaven and earth in ashes burning.
I just listened to it with the speakers turned way up, and I'm still shaking. Whether it says Fallout or not, it's awesome.

(from http://www.bethsoft.com/bgsforums/index ... 886&st=20#)

Seriously, does the guy even know what inversion is?

The music doesn't exactly reinforce any hopes that Bethesda understands the nuances of Fallout.
Big fucking surprise.

7 million dollars and the first people get to experience doesn't remind of Fallout at all? Fucking idiots. Why not go for some cheap points and sneak in a reference or two to the Fallouts of old?
Fallout is now Todd's toy. He can do whatever he want and he wants everyone to see it.

Actually, no. Not enough medication. Sedate this man already! Don't you people have any sympathy? That is so sad.

Jeremy Soule should be restricted to composing for fantasy games because that is what the music on that page reminded me of, generic fantasy drek.

The music is grand, and I like it, but it seems terribly out of place. The closest it comes to evoking is some Mad Max inspired action drivel with all the trappings of fantastical equivalents of place holder cliches. And the game seems to take itself too seriously, I now worry not only would the game manage to grind the franchise into the ground, but also trivialize, desecrate, and bastardize the memories of its 'predecessors' as well.

Who gives a shit about the music? When playing a game or watching a movie if you actually notice the music it's getting in the way.

Anyways, we all know this is going to be a fucked up travesty. I imagine this is the first lie; the music won't be in the game, the vague landscape screenshot won't even resemble anything in the game and the teaser that this teaser alludes to will be over two years late.

Then the devolopers managers will start spewing on and on about how this feature will be in there and really cool, then that feature and it'll all turn out to be even stupider and more dumbed down than Oblivion was. Who cares.

Add to that that this will be Oblivion with 'post apolyptic elements' scaling mutant rats, no dialogue or story but guaranteed to include a whole shit load of button 'A' mashing with absolutely no reason to actually play it. Not holding my breath.

You'd think in 2007 or 2008 with all the processing power and programmers out there someone could actually make an RPG. Perhaps they're spending too much money sending out an mp3 and a jpg to bother with working on a an actuall game.

Anyways, the concept art looked okay to me. Not that that means anything.

Maybe it's just me... wait- no, everyone else thought it was shit too.

Nevermind.

P.S. I saw a man, an elf, and a dwarf running across the crags of the concept art, anyone else see that? Amazing.

I'll assume that it is just music for a trailer/preview. Bethesda would not be so fucking stupid to add a score to Fallout... oh wait, this IS Bethesda.

Maybe, Mr Happy. Maybe.

Weird that they pulled the documentation for all those out of print games. Maybe Games for Windows is going to take a play from Nintendo/XBox Live and offer classic games for download.

@Elwro - ZOMG TEH NOOBZOR

Anyways, yeah the music sounds very un-Falloutish. I'm not sure what you guys were expecting. I don't think the people at Beth see Fallout the same way we do, they see them the way a Halo kid would.
